I'm a newbie here. Great site!

Need to know what is the best cleaning products for wheel wells. I tried the Citrus cleaner from Home Depot, let it set for 15 min. then power washed but could not get what seamed to be only dirt and clay stains. How can I get these looking clean?

diluted orange blast maybe?

i like eagle one a2z... it says it cleans wheels, and tires, and has no acid, so i decided to spray in on the wheel wells, and it worked amazing...

You almost always need some kind of agitation ( pressure washer is a good tool to have on hand too) for wells that are any more than very slightly dirty.

P21S Total Auto wash. Its the safest degreaser out there for any part of your vehicle and cleans everything great. I use it for engine and engine compartment cleaning, stripping wax or polish off the paint surface, wheel wells, undercarraige cleaning, inside of my wheels. just about any cleaning project on your car can be done with the P21S. its great stuff and the only degreaser that I let touch my vehicles.

No matter what chemical I use, I have always found brushing or wiping with an old rag is very necessary. This includes when I use my powerwasher. If I don't brush or wipe, there is always a dirt "film" left behind.

Personally, I've been using Orange Blast lately mixed 4:1. Works great for multiple uses (wheel wells, tires, engine bay) and is very cost effective. I even use it on nasty floor mats/carpet stains with my steam cleaner.

Which ever product you go for, cleaning with a brush is the way to go,but be sure the bristles won't harm/scratch the paint in the wheel wells.would be wise to have some kind of tar remover on hand too,you will always find some tar in the wells.sills, wheels when cleaning.

On my show cars I sometimes repaint the wheel wells , with a body colour spray can (bomb)

Thanks guys,

I scrubbed the wells using the Citrus cleaner, power washed, and after drying i sprayed them with no-touch. they look awsome! It is only a Cavalier, but CLEAN means everything.

Thanks Again! :xyxthumbs
