Wheel wells

hello everybody...happy new year...i haven't been here for a while
how is everybody doing?
my question and i don't know if it has been asked is what to use to
brighten up your wheel wells that i can buy in a store.something you
can spray on and doesn't leave any streaks
 
chances are that any OTC dressing will not always go on and stay on with out a streak, but many people will use a semi-gloss spray paint to give a nice solid look to a wheel well. Just be careful tape off the surrounding body panels, remove one wheel at a time and give a nice light even coat. Replace the wheel and move on to the next one. This will last a decent amount of time:)
 
thanks poorboy..i never heard or thought of that idea.
If i decide to do that it should maintain it's gloss without
worrying about applying something to it to make it shine
 
I use No Touch Tire foam on mine but it can streak and sometimes you have to go back and hit it with a cotton terry cloth to make it even. Another product i have used that works very well is In and Out Spray and also Meg's Hot Shine Tire Dressing Aerosol version.

sorry for me thats overkill, i use flat black paint to touchem up on my daily driver. not that i dont think it should be done, but my wheel wells are dirty before i hit the main drag about 1/2 mile or less away from my home.
 
Although I do not do wheel wells often. When I do dress them I have been using Mop and Glo. Easy to apply with a sponge. Only draw back for me is that when i do dress the wheel well I need to make sure that it is dried completely before traveling any where.
 
I just realized what to do with the three bottles of Armor All that I get for birthdays and Christmas from well intentioned family members.

The suggestion I've read most was to use any of the tire foams. I've never really tried that appraoch though. I do plan on painting my wheel wells this week though.

not a good idea.. water based dressings go off easy :chop the only type i would consider it trim restorer but that would be a waste of expensive product. Wheel well are is something you just cant fix becasue it will turn ugly the same day of seconds after you drive

Why would you want to use something expensive on the wells when it will wear off just like the water based dressing? :confused: Spraying the wells with a water based dressing after each wash is a cost efficient way to keep them looking good. If the wells are so bad that the water based dressing don't help then you need to paint them and use a water based dressing inbetween washes to keep them looking good.

This is exactly what I do. I've got some Zep All Around dressing, water based. Very seldom do customers want a shiny, glossy dash, so I have a lot of it. I cut it and use it on wheel wells. I haven't noticed how long it lasts, though, but it is nice for customer pick up.
 
I've used Armor All for wheel wells, but I don't get the great results everyone else does. I find it dries streaky on its own, but when I buff it a little it pretty much turns gray.
