Wheel Sealant Durability

I have only one layer of WS on my wheels right now, haven't been able to get a 2nd layer on them yet.

I was wondering if I clean my tires with Eagle One A2Z or Purple Power, will the overspray or the dripping of the cleaner onto the wheel take off the WS in that area? I haven't cleaned my tires in a couple weeks, just keep adding dressing to them, and the shine is wearing out faster since they aren't 100% clean.

Basically what I'm trying to ask is, will I have to reapply (this in itself isn't a bad thing :) ) Poorboy's WS after every cleaning of the tires?

what are u cleaning the tires with? ive kept my tires clean with soap and water.

what type of dressing do u use on u're tires. if one thing is correct, it is that petroleum based dressings or solventy dressings are harder to clean and tend to almost always need something like a2z or apc to clean them. thats one of the reasons waterbased dressings are the only thing i use.

if its just the dripping of the tire cleaner dripping down the wheel then u should check this out.

clean the tires fast and rinse immediately so u get minimal if any runs down the wheel

Whenever I do clean the tires I use A2Z or Purple Power, car soap and water just don't seem enough for me  I like that idea of using something to cover the wheels, maybe a cardboard cutout to cover the wheels.

I'm wondering if a little runoff of A2Z will take off a strip of WS from the rim.

A2Z overspray will most certainly strip your WS, it's a pretty powerful acid (or alkaline, can't remember which). WS has great durability but it's still not up to the task of repelling that kind of chemical cleaning.

But it would be strong enough to stand up to a carwash soap? Just wondering...I guess it must be somewhat similar to a regular sealant in that regard?

It's definetly up to the task of being washed the same as your car. It was designed so that you could wash your wheels with whatever is left over from washing your car, if you use a water-based dressing then you don't need to worry about degreasers on the wheels at all.

I definitely agree :punk: Nothing more than car wash should be needed after Wheel Sealant and for the tires just use a mild cleaner(APC) and scrub a little with a wheel brush. :)
