wheel seal vs. paint sealant?

I love silicone !!
Aloha Steve and members, I 've been using EX-P for my bimmers wheelsand my ? is how much diff. or better is the wheel sealant than EX-P?

Is it really different ?
 
We compared the two side by side as well as with AIO and SG , and the Wheels Sealant clearly was easier to maintain, stayed clean longer by itself, and on my truck is still going strong since before Thanksgiving. :bigups
 
How is / does the wheel sealant perform on un-coated polished aluminum?

I polished my wheels in Nov and used AIO and they are so far gone I am going to have to send them out to be polished.
 
I've been using the wheel sealer since last October or November (tested it, then purchased it) and IMO it makes cleaning wheels A LOT easier.

Like Steve said in a few other posts.... apply 2 coats back to back to ensure coverage, then a 3rd coat a day later or the next time you wash, and you'll be good to go.

Maintain (clean) with Spray and Rinse. It works just like the name says. I get a lot of brake dust on my wheels (especially the inner rim), and these 2 products have made me a happy camper because I hate spending a 1/2 hour scrubbing down the rims each week. I'd highly recommend giving them a try.

It works on all types of wheels and even hubcaps:)

The wheels do have to be cleaned and polished prior to using the Wheel Sealant.
 
Using Poorboy's Pro Polish before the Wheel Sealant to insure that the wheels are "spotless" and to add some shine is an definite plus. The Wheel Sealant really seems to hold up well and looks great using that system........ at least on chrome and clear-coated wheels.

Of course, one could probably do the same with AIO as a cleaner/base for the Wheel Sealant.

Why not give it a try, and let us know your thoughts. :bigups

It was my first winter with them, they were polished and AIO'ed in Nov. By Jan they were toast. I am kicking myself for not using SG or #20 on top of the AIO? I am getting a new set of wheels put on right now, which are clearcoated. My plan is to mount these up for the winter and get my Eagle 101's polished back to condition and use them for late spring until early fall.

I tried using Mothers with no luck. I picked up a couple of buffing attachments for the drill and some metal polishes from Home Depot. I will give them one last try myself before sending them out.

Yes, but I need to try it again when the weather breaks for good to come to any conclusions. :D

Yeah, we are talking about some pretty serious polishing there to get them back into condition. To be honest, I don't know if Wheel Sealant will give you the protection you need on billet aluminum. Once you get them cleaned up nicely, you may want to look into this stuff: (Expensive, but works very nice)
