Hey if there is anyone out there that can lead me to the cooton bob website or anything that can polish the small spaces of rims, I would really appreciate it.

To make a long story short, my customer swore up and down he had chrome rims. After hours of polishing the rims I convinced him he only had polished alum. but I got them to look the best they possilbly could. Now I need to finish up the small spaces of the rim which my huge pad would not reach.

Any recommendations are apreciated.
 
There are many ways to polish tight spaces on wheels. It depends on the circumstances. These are the three ways I do them.
1. 3 inch polishing wheel using jewelers rouge.
2. dremmel polishing pad using jewelers rouge.
3. Compound, or polish, my finger and a towel.

I've never run into anything these three couldn't swing. I wouldn't bother doing any of these on a normal detail besides maybe a little compound and a towel. Most people won't pay for me to go to the extremes to restore their wheels. There's just too much work and time involved that I'd have to bill the customer for. I'll gladly do it if they're willing to pay though. If you are gonna go that nuts with wheels, I'd recommend taking them off the car and putting them on a bench to work on. It'l be much, much easier on your back and they'll come out better because you can see all the surfaces.
 
I seem to remember that Dwayne has some polishing bobs as well. It was quite a while ago since I was there, but I think I remember seeing them. Give him a call.

In the future, you could use a magnet as an easy way to identify the difference between chrome 'steel' wheels and polished aluminum. The magnet will be attracted to the steel and not the aluminum.
 
If you're looking for the cotton bobs that attach to a drill, Dwayne has them. Call him again, if that is what you're looking for.
