had a detail a couple days ago and he wanted me to see what i could do with his bare aluminum wheels. i did one by hand and got ok results. i told him for me to get the best results to bring the wheels back to me, and ill pick up something to do a machine polish.

in your experience what have you found to be the best product, and what tool?

im seeing the power balls, and products like that, but do those actually work, i wanna bring these back to that mirror finisih.

The power ball mini is OK, but its not great. It doesn't get into the tigher areas or sharper corners. I haven't seen any foam pads or anything small enough to fit, but since these are bare aluminum you can probably use felt wheels.

You are on the right track. Use the proper buffs and compound and they will look like a mirror. There is a good metal polishing forum over on Caswell. Good info on plating, powder coating, etc as well. There where quite a few polished bits on my Cobra so I got proficient with the process. Messy as hell so be prepared. Wax them when you are done.
