Wheel Cleaning Question

I wash my cars in my garage using ONR. I have German cars that produce a ton of brake dust. Is it okay to use a wheel cleaner like sonax and then just spray it off using my 1 gallon sprayer filled with ONR. I've tried waxing the wheels but the brake dust is still tough to remove with only onr. I wouldn't see the harm in using a wheel cleaner as long as it gets rinsed thoroughly. Just wanted to make sure.

This is not the answer you are looking for but it will get you to the end result of washing the heavy German brake dust from your wheels with an ONR wash

Coat the wheels with Opti Gaurd/Coat... You will be able to easily wash the wheels with JUST ONR and a wash mitt

I'd rather rinse Wheel Cleaner off with water than with ONR.

And +1 on coating the wheels, though my German cars' wheels clean up just fine with only FK1000P on them.

I keep the wheels on my VW coated with DG 105 and they wash off fine with just ONR or regular car wash soap when I do a full wash. Only use wheel cleaner once a year in the spring when I do a full detail. I took a yellow foam wax applicator pad--sliced it down the middle at the seam, glued it around a paint stirring stick with water proof glue and use it to apply DG105 to the barrels as well.
