Well I got out and hand washed the Honda this weekend.
It was pushing 70 degrees in Iowa Sunday. VERY NICE Day...for Iowa.
I used the NXT wash I picked up on clearance.
I like this stuff. Nice smell and plenty of suds.
No water spots to speak of. Giood thing I got 2 jugs of it.
Well I didn't have time for a full polish and detail.
So I elected to put on a coat of #16.
It is suppose to rain/snow twice this week. I thought #16 would hold me over till we had better weather and I had more time.
Wow, I was bumming big time as I wiped off the #16. I couldn't beleive all of the scratchs my "nighthhawk black" car had acquired over the winter.
Well I'll tackle that as time permits. I also used my Sams club special Yellow MFs... Worked very well. Great deal.
I had thought I did a good job this year of using TLC on my paint and car.
old man winter is one mean Motha.....Black shows everything, but I love the look when its clean.
Anyhow my Question:
I found a nice half dime size gouge out of one of painted rims.
Silver/clear coat finish.
The gouge goes to metal. but does not look to pierce the rim other than to have removed a nice chunk of paint.
I'm sure it was ice or road hazard that caused it. Raccoon road kill ??
heck it might even of been the shop that rotated my tires. Well thats water under the bridge. I gotta fix it somehow.
How do I fix it guys ? sand and use touch up paint with a couple layers of clear coat applied afterwards ? Will it hold up if the rim gets hot or just flake off in less than a year ?
Any special prep I should consider prior to re painting it ?
or Live with it and keep it coated with PB Wheel sealant or EX ??
Thank you for any help you can provide.
