whats your choice on product for heavy swirls.....

Hey guys I'm looking to get a couple of new products to my collection but i have a few questions. I try and detail as a hobby right now so please help.......

I detailed my girlfriends car a month ago she has some serious swirls i used pinnacle xmt medium polish it worked ok but still see some swirls. i was using a porter cable btw. Should i have just used a compound?if so i was thinking of getting meguiars 101 or cg v32 and v34....any other suggestions.
 
I really like the new Menzerna FG400. I think, for a DA polisher, it is going to give very fast results and leave a pretty good finish. It is also very to use!
 
With a PC I like Poorboys SSR 2.5 cutting pad, then SSR1 with polishing pad.

I also love Presta line for heavy cutting it's not one that a lot of people talk about, why I don't know. Because it's a go to for me when I have to get down to business!

You can try all the products that everyone has mention and get the results your looking for. IMO you can try M205 with Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pad ( tangerine )and get very good results that will blow you away. But it's up to you on what you want to try and get also. Keep us all inform.
 
I've fixed some nasty nasty swirls using SRC Compound as well and finishes down really nice. Don't know if it would work on a d/a though I use a rotary most the time.
 
Thanks guys... For sure I'm gonna try the megs 105

But i also picked up a makita buffer. I'll write a feed back and hopefully some pics as soon as the weather gets better.

If you've never used a rotary use extreme caution with 105, It will be very unforgiving if you hit an edge or nick a mirror ect... I'd practice a few rounds at least with someone else's car if they don't mind the risk. We all know someone with a beater that doesn't care :yay. Also after m105 and rotary you'll probably have some halagraming so you might want finish with your PC because it's hard to polish halagrams out with a rotary with out a lot of practice. Good luck
 
I've used one before. Not saying I'm the greatest lol. But yeah my little brothers altima is one of those beaters. I've done a couple of test spots on it already. Nothing bad yet. But i was running a rotary at a low speed and no pressure. Almost no contact on the edges.
 
I did a test spot with the rotary i have on a friends 03 yukon with really bad oxidation. It did the job quick. I used some rubbing compound from 3m. I didn't really inspect it because i had to leave. But it looked pretty good from 3 feet away.
