Whats this rattle from?

Since the onset of the frigid temperatues, my Integra has been having a rattle in the dashboard. I beleive it to be something with the speedometer, as it is at its worst when the car is cold. As the car warms up it becomes softer. It also stops when im not moving. The speedometer seems to work fine other than the rattle when cold. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this, aside from replacing the speedometer?
 
Judging by the year of your vehicle the speedo is probably cable driven. The noise you are hearing is most likely the cable rubbing the casing it is in. No big deal just annoying
 
You could pull the speedo out and grease the flexible shaft real good. That should take care of it, some light/med duty stuff will work.
