What's the easiest LSP for cold weather applications?

Living in N.O. I know the easy of working with PBs products in extreme heat. I once applied EX-P in 97 degrees in direct sun to a black car and had no problems.

But what LSP works well in cold humid temps?

Collinite 845 gets my vote-don't have to worry about bonding problems and you can slap it over what's already on the car.

Thanks wannafbody,

I already have some 845 too. Sounds like cold weather maybe the Achilles heal of Jeff's AJ.

#16 and Carnauba Moose work very well in the cold. Natty's Blue can be a little streaky if it is under about 45 but if you let it dry longer it seems to be fine.

Most any LSP product should work in the conditions you stated. Pick a good day and apply what you already are using. A good protectant should only need 1 re-application during a Southern winter.

Find a good QD/sealant re-enforcer like Z8, Optimum Spray Wax or Sonus Acrylic Spritz to maintain that just waxed appearance during the mild southern winters.

Add some QEW, 1Z Lackfinish or 1Z Perl wash to your normal wash bucket will also add some protection and appearance augmentation. :dance

You must be using it in a closed, heated garage?

Well my garage is closed and heated but I've been using it on my families cars outside - seems to work ok. Am I missing something? Should it be streaking in the cold, because it isn't when I use it?

Picus: For many of us, anything under 40-45* has provided streaking issues with OCW. Are you using it on a light color?

A variety of colors. I've only done their cars twice since winter started (I don't get down there often) - two black cars and a silver car. I didn't notice streaking on any of them, both days have been very dry, though. First day was probably 0-ish (celsius), second was maybe 3-4c (high 30's F). I'll keep an eye out for it, but I guess I will withdraw my recomendation if others are having streaking issues on cold/humid days.

Mothers Reflections advanced car wax..... cold or hot, dry or humid; it doesn't matter, it is extremely easy to remove. Mothers FX synwax as second.

Collinite 845 is a great choice, but the mothers siblings are easier. However, for durability and protection, the 845 IW is tough to beat.

I used OCW when it was in the low 40's in my garage without any streaking issues but my car is a metallic silver. I thought it looked great and is definitely the easiest (bar none) LSP I have ever used. If the durability of OCW is even 3-4 weeks (much less a couple of months) then I will have to promote this product to the top of the list.

Closed garage, right? Try it on black, outside, with temps in the mid 30's. :scared:

I agree about the 16, but what is a good replacement for it since it won't be sold anymore 845 maybe?

Natty's Blue will be my replacement for #16 when I finailly run out, I already use it pretty regularly anyway.

Another very easy product to use in the cold is Meguiars #20 Polymer Sealant.

I like 20 alot, since they came out with a new formula making it less runny. Good for wheels too.
