What's the difference between AutopiaForums and...

I can not even tell you how confused I was about this!!!:hmmm: I was reading both sites and somehow thought they were the same.It took me while to figure out what was happening!:idea:D

And you're not even blonde! ;)

I initially questioned the wisdom of changing DC to something resembling a long established Forum's name. Seemed akin to another manufacturer changing their name to FordCars to capitalize on potential confusion. However, I'm thinking it was a sound business decision. Certainly can't argue with the resulting improvement in participation and content though. :bigups

Besides PAC & TID, the migration from AGO.

Both are good, Todd is a great detailer and knows the biz, Ben and the fellows at 3D are top notch too. I see a lot of the same people on both forums.

Autopia.org speaks UNO, AF does not speak much UNO.

I'll speak UNO if you like. I bought it, used it, threw it away.

I'm really surprised that a detailers with the name recognition are associated with that brand but that's just my personal opinion.

The important thing is that you are free to discuss whatever you like, or don't like and it's OK. Autopia.org may be the same way, I don't know because I just don't go there since the whole month long virus fiasco and the response from 3D admins after they finally got around to addressing the issue. By then it was too late for me to ever want to be a part of that.

I will say that AutopiaForums to me is more in line with David Bynon's original version of Autopia.org, Dwayne's original vision of Detail City and Max's foresight of AutopiaForums.

Acquiring Todd Helmes and merging TID gave a nice boost and what I see is a thriving and growing forum.

I'm a bit confused.... what exactly is the problem you have with "that brand"?

What I will say, is that the person you mentioned is someone who seems to have a great deal of integrity and I honestly don't believe he would associate himself with or stand behind a product unless he was getting good results with it.

Autopia.org IS the same way; frankly things have come a long way over there since the virus debacle and the 3D admin who is currently in place is excellent to deal with. You're missing out by not visiting there.

Well said Charlie. The Autopia.org virus fiasco is what motivated me to seek other forums, and eventually led me to TID. But that's way in the past now and I've found myself going back more and more often. I always enjoyed TID's "family" atmosphere, which seems to carry on here, but the Big A has such a broad range of members that you can learn a ton over there as well.

And FWIW, I've only used the newest version of UNO which supposedly lost the teething issues of the first couple of versions. It seems pretty good to me. Any new product will experience growing pains, but they've come out with two new versions in a hurry. In other words, they responded to feedback quickly, which is commendable.

I found the sealant HD Poxy to streak and was hard to remove and yes, I followed the directions on the bottle and it was in my climate controlled garage. I don't remember the other names of the products I tried but it reminded me of Granitize, which I'm not too fond of.

They all can't be winners but you should give it a try and see if it works for you. If it does, great. If it doesn't, then you and I will agree on something.
