What's the best air freshener product?

Been thinking about this type of product lately. I recently got a Yankee Candle cardboard hanging type freshener in honeydew melon for the wife's car and works well for $2 but I wonder if there are better products out there...

Any suggestions or advice? Thanks! :usa

Not cheap, but seems like this would be much more effective at eliminating any odors rather than masking them:

I learned about this product with great feedback on either Autopia or DC, FWIW since I can't vouch for the product myself.

I use those Gonzo bags and they work great..I have them in my basement to get the musty smell out...like I said they work....

My neighbor bought a used car from a smoker and put one in the car..after a few days...the smoke odor was gone....he then washed the interior and shampooed the rugs and seats...and car smells fresh and clean now....

That gonzo stuff is just activated charcoal right? You can get the same stuff at any Bed,Bath & Beyond or LNT or maybe even that "Wal Mart" that everyone seems to hate so much...

California Scents organic air fresheners work well. They last for a good while, and come in many different scents. They consist of three scented pads in a little tin that can be placed in the spot of your choosing.

No..the gonzo bag is some type of lava rock...but I would bet it has some type of activated carbon composition to it...but it a white rock type substance...very porous...like pumice stone...but what ever it is..it works....and can be recharged...

Sounds like Zeolite. You can buy that in bulk for cheaper.

It works good though :).

Chemical Guys Air Freshener

If it's as good as thier other stuff I would bet this is great. The leather conditioner I use from them smells strongly like leather... mmmmmm

It smells like green apples until it fades away along with whatever odor was there. I used it on (re)fermented wine that had been wasted in the trunk of a new G35. I did a quick carpet cleaning and then the application of the odor eater and closed the trunk. Owner wasn't home when it was done but called and wanted to know what I had done as he couldn't smell a thing.:)

If you are looking for an air freshener and not an odor eliminator, my suggestion is leaving a real smelling leather post conditioning towel in the vehicle. I use Zaino's Z10 and always get the comment that my vehicles smell like new leather.

The 1Z leather conditioner sample I receive also has a rather pleasant leather aroma.

If the current car I'm working on has lost it's new car smell, I'll spray a little Poorboy's Natural Look in the vents. I LOVE the smell of this stuff and that way you always get the nice aroma of NL instead of musty A/C or heater.

If I don't want anything interfering with the leather smell, I'll just use it on the dash every week or so and that balances out nicely, too.

Of course, this only works if you like the smell of NL as much as me!
