I've been using Nxt For a long time, started using it on my firebird then used it on my truck since i got it. Looks really good but just doesnt last like i like and attracts dust/dirt it seems.

My routine when cleaning my truck is.

3m pre wax cleaner (claying as soon as the snow ends)

3m Finesse II

And then NXT.

Done with 6" Sears Buffer.

Natty's is a very good alternative if you cannot/do not want to pay $60-70 for Souveran. It isn't as clear and just a tad lighter in appearance, but overall, very similar in appearance.

Echoing others' comments, here are my choices in order:

1) Pinnacle Souveran

2) P21S

Add some AIO and SG in the mix and stand back :xyxthumbs

)4BlackGmc,

I also would go with Souveran as a final topper on black. Here is a pic of my former jet black Bimmer with 3 layers of EX 24 hrs. apart and then topped with 2 Coats of Souveran.

If I had another black car I would go with the above combo again!:D

Cheers,

To me, they all look the same. Pretty much any quality wax you go with should look great so long as you prep your surface well.

To those of you guys that claim to see a difference between waxes. I wish I could take you up on that claim. I'm positive you wouldn't be able to tell the diff. :D

I would agree that the prep is the key. I would also agree that all the products mentioned on this page will work great. However, there is just something "extra" about Souveran on dark colors! Is it worth the price........... that' up to the one spending the bucks.

While most here offer their opinions on which wax or secret combinations "look" best, I have to agree somewhat with Bobsealant. Most any quality wax will look great on a clean, polished finish. Of course, oily waxes may "look" a little better to some people on dark pigment, than one with a higher surface shine. Its really just more a personal preference.

However, the real complaint with NXT, that you stated in your post, is that NXT looks good but doesnt last and it attracts dust. This is a common complaint with some that have used it. Your dust problem is usually caused of humidity and static. Some waxes tend to attract more dust in certain areas and climates than others.

If you want something that lasts, you cannot find better than Zaino. While some try desperately to find fault with Zaino, its durability sets the benchmark that none others mentioned even comes close.

If you are looking for a better product than NXT on the local shelves, try Mothers FX SynWax, or my personal preference on dark colors, Reflections and Top Coat. I prefer either to NXT, and Ive gotten much better durability from both. They are also the easiest and most nearly fool proof products Ive ever used.

I have a buddy with a red SRT-4 and he uses only NXT. It looks good, but not great to me. Could that be topped with, say, UPP? Would that make a difference?

Well, yes it will probably look different because youve used a completely different product. If using something different will make it look better, then why use NXT at all. Just use something else to start with.

Contrary to popular thinking, if UPP looks great over NXT, UPP will look just as great 'without' the NXT.

You probably should look more closely at the finish. If its not in pretty good condition, nothing will look as good as it does over a prepped finish.
