What would you put on my truck ?

2016 GM Silver Silverado crew cab. The trucks been clayed and all Ive been using is detail spray or a spray wax (Megs Ult.). Need something to pop the shine and metallic ( best it can on Silver ). This is a DD so durability to stand up to my washes and car washes (touchless) is what a want. Its a big truck so I don`t want to wax it often , just maint.

I have all Megs Ultimate stuff & Collinite 845 , 915 , 476s & FK 1000P, FK 425 & All of DG stuff . As you can tell Im not a believer in the "boutique" type of stuff or coating`s . Been there and done that !

FK1000p. Durability is there, and the one silver car I did (EVO 9) looked pretty good. The owner really thought so

Another vote for the fk1000p. Nice hard gloss shine, which I think silver needs along with great protection. Keep it away from the trim. I`d go 845 on/around that.

I second FK1000P with no topper as it only plays well with a few products, IME. A quality wash (weekly) that has wax in it will help maintain the durability, for this I use Optimum Car Wash (diluted to whatever is suggested) and then add an ounce of Meg`s D156 Synthetic X-press Wax to it. Results look like I have just waxed it, and it gives the FK1000P a little more depth (its on a green Lexus). If you must top it, Meg`s Ultimate Quik Wax and again D156 work well, those two options are basically `set it and forget it` as you won`t need to chase pseudo-holograms all that much. IME regarding FK425, its only uses for me are either a drying aid or clay lube. I`ve had it *stain* FK1000P, I am not sure if I got a bad bottle or what. If I remember correctly, I liked 3D Final Touch QD on the FK.

My second choice would be the 476S, ridiculously easy to use, and doesn`t mind sitting a-top a glaze, however it does need a touch up layering every once in a while to keep the look, otherwise it will still bead well.

I love my FK 1000p. I didn`t feel like polishing my white Sienna after iron-x and claying the back third. Threw on some FK 1000p and it looked polished.

Another vote for FK1000p

Congrats on the new ride. I have the same color in a 2014 and have used FK with good results, to me it muted the metallic a bit. I ended up coating it with the Uber and am happy with the look. I of course play with toppers constantly. The Blackfire wet diamond had a nice look on the silver also. I think I have tries about every suggestion I have seen and all are great, just depends on the look you are going for ime.

Gee, lots of people advocating FK1000P these days... [Accumulator pats self on back and wishes he got a commission from FK]

I find I`m using FK425 less and less, in favor of QD-strength IUDJ. Yeah, even on FK1000P...who woulda thunk it?

BSkip333- Hey, that`s interesting about how the FK1000P muted metallic for you! Huh...never seen that myself, see how YMMV keeps factoring in?!? Ya just don`t know until you do it yourself.

Imo the metallic on these trucks isn`t as evident on other vehicles. The FK gave it a more bright look. Now I love it on my work truck, which is a 2015 white 2500 Chevy truck...stays clean and cleans up easy as I could ask. Even the millions of bugs that huge grill collects comes clean with a wash mitt without crazy scrubbing.

in your arsenal I would go 845 all day. I had it on my silver infiniti truck and it is durable and looks great.

That said, you have a lot of real estate to cover. The prep is the most time consuming labor intense part of the whole deal depending on what your polishing plan is.

I would definitely be thinking coating to extent the time between detailing sessions. For a DD I think Gloss Coat. Very protective, when the beading slows down the protection is evident in the ease of washing, absence of marring and the fact that things don`t stick.
