I have tried some different windshield solvents...like Rain-X brand..Blue Diamond brand.Mr. Clean.and a few others...some one in work gave me some GM Optikleen concentrate...and it works great..paint safe...no streaks...32oz makes about 4 - 5 gallons...plus I use it to clean the windows..I mix it in a spray bottle...it cost about 4.00 for 32oz..they also have it pre mixed..and it works great also..I use that in the winter time...it has stuff in it to keep blades clean and to keep them from drying out...nice stuff..just thought I would pass it on...

Get it at the GM dealer parts dept.

I've wanted to try a few of those, I just didn't want to waste my money. Thanks for the info. $1/gallon, you can't beat that.

All the stuff at the stores freeze and won't work when you need it so I started mixing my own. Distilled water/Alcohol/a few drops of dawn shake to mix and then add to the washer tank. I adjust the alcohol according to outside temperature.Cost is about 50 cents per gallon and it don't freeze.
During the summer months I run a dehumidifier and dump the water in old milk jugs and save about 5 gallon for winter use. The wife uses it in the steam iron also. I never buy the distilled water.
