what to use to remove fine scratches?

Hi all .I'm new to this site and would appreciate you help in choosing a polish.

I need to remove fine scratches from my hood,which was made by yours truly trying to wipe bird poop with a damp paper towel:nomore:

I tried 3M swirl remover and a White pad with my PC but this stuff has fillers and I still can see the scratches .

I'M thinking a more aggressive polish should do the trick,but what polish and how I am not sure .

Could you help? I'm a newbie with my PC so knowing that what would you recommend?

Work your way up the cut ladder till the damage is corrected. I can't tell you "what" polish to use, nor do I know what you have. Get yourself a good scratch removing polish like sonus and thier orange pad then finish with your white pad and a light polish, they could be deeper than that but that would be a good place to start.

Yep, you need to use something more aggressive than the 3M swirl remover.



What that'll be depends on how hard your paint is.



I generally recommend 1Z brand polishes for newbies (sources: Welcome to Exceldetail! or Aloha & Welcome to Our Oasis for All Your Auto Detailing Supplies & Accessories ), but there are a *lot* of good products on the market these days.

Accumulator,you just reminded me about Honda Civics paint being notoriously soft therefore I should look for a polish which is more suitable for that paint,I was thinking PB's SSR 2 and a white pad.

I'll keep looking Thank you all again.
