What to use on chrome/aluminum trim/tailpipes?

I've got aluminum? chrome looking trim on my 2004 BMW that I would like advise on getting a good shine on?!?! Also, what is the best to clean the soot off the chrome tailpipe? Thanks in advance! :howdy

For cleaning I would either use a good metal polish, or depending on how bad they are...some 0000 steel wool then the metal polish...this is for the tail pipes only...as for the trim a good paint cleaner or PB PP would be the choice for me

I think I can picture that trim and if its how I think it is, elbow grease and Mothers Billit Aluminum polish is were its at. 75% of BMWs and Jags I see seem to have the same oxidized look to the side window trim within 2 years. Your best bet is to get them back looking good, and then just keep them protected best you can.
