One more question

Im going to use two different products

First

DACP-AIO-KSG

Second

Mz FP- Z5-Z2

My question is what do you do between the dacp and Aio and what do you use between menzerna and Z5, to avoid bad bonds.

One more question

In the first process what is better between layers. (Final Inspection or wich one)

In the second one between layers is Z6 right

What cars are you planning on applying these products to? Is this on the same car? Year? make? model? color? How are you going to go about applying all these different products? Details would be good.

1. DACP might leave a fine haze on certain finishes if used with a PC or by hand. Might be necessary to follow up with something lighter like Meguiar's #9 or #82 Swirl free Polish. Then you can either dawn wash (fi yuo are anal) but for time being a factor, I go right ahead and Klasse AIO then SG.

2. Menzerna FP, remove residue (might require QD or distilled water), then dawn wash, and apply Zaino Z2/Z5 either with the Z1 or ZFX products to ensure total bodning of Zaino.

SG won't be able to layer without proper 24 hour cure times between application and removal of applications. If you have a garage and let the car sit, you can use a CCD then #34 if needed.

For Zaino if you use ZFX you can apply 3 coats in a 24 hour period. Z6 in between coats is recommended.

Jason

you again helping me. (:bow , :xyxthumbs)

I got in mind two different cars

First one (Audi A4, 99, Grey) just spider webbing

This car with Mz FP or SMR, and the 1Z5 and 2Z2 with Z6 in between.

Second one (Sunfire 99, Green) (minor swirls and a couple of scratches)

I dont know if start with 3M PI or DACP and then AIO and Klasse with Quick Detailing in between AIO and Klasse and toped it with #26.

What do you think

Well for the 99 Audi A4 in Gray,

1. Wash as usual with car wash soap/dry

(Clay if needed)

2. Polish with Menzerna fP or SMR (didn't like Menzerna FP with my rotary (stuck like glue but some alcohol removed the residue), will do some testing soon with my PC.)

3. Dawn wash then dry

4. Zaino 2/5 with ZFX (remember very small amount will cover a large area. I recommend mixing up an ounce of Z5 and seeing how much of that you will use. Once a 12 hour period passes, the Zaino in the small container mixed with ZFX is not usable and rock hard. Z6 in between coats. You run out of Z5 and have 2 coats, rinse out the bottle VERY well with dawn, then some Z7. Then mix up 1/2 an ounce of Z2 for a third coat of Z. Remove, then Z6. If you get 3 coats out of 1 ounce of Z5, then wait till the next day and give the Audi a Z7 wash then apply 3 coats of Z2 with ZFX (or if pressed for time or energy) just apply a coat of Z2 alone, rerally thin, let dry for an hour or so (depending on humidity or temperature.) Remove then Z6.

Gosh I hope I explained that one well.

99 Green Sunfire

1. Wash and dry

2. If the car has not been clay'd, clay it.

3. Start with DACP, remember top put down some pressure and speed it up to 6 to make sure the DACP fully breaks down. If that doesn't solve the problem try it again (assuming you are using a foam cutting pad.) I assume you have 3M Perfect It II Fine Cut Rubbing Compound. See which one works better for the paint. I find some polishes to work better on certain finishes than other finishes.

4. Might gave to follow up with an SMR to remove any haze that is left with a finer pad on the PC (assuming you are using a PC.) Make sure to remove the fillers with a 50/50 solution of alcohol and distilled water.

5. Klasse AIO by PC and a foam polishing or finishing pad, then once again by hand, or youi can do it by hand (I find the Pc to lay down an even application, then I follow up by hand to give the car a nice han rub down to get areas I missed with the PC too.)

6. Klasse SG, allow to dry, then remove. Wait 24 hours for it to cure before putting on another coat.

You don't need to apply Qd between AIO and SG, go from AIO right to SG.

See if you like the look of SG first, if you want aded depth, wait a week or so to see if the Klasse shine and durability will grow on you, then if you want, wash the car with car wash solution, then apply #26.

This was the best explanation ever. Thanks so much for the help.

I have plans to buy the products and the pc next week, cause I have to buy them by Internet and pick them up in Mcallen, Tx. That is why I need to know everything That I shold buy.

Great advices. If you could change some product for other what would you do. I still have time before ordering the products.

What kind of pads are you using with your PC? I'd definitly try the 3M PI-IIMG (05937) first with a medium to light cut pad and see if that gets to your swirls. I'm a fan of the orange pads from CMA and Griot's. If it doesn't do it, DACP followed by PI-III should do the trick.

Looks like Jason's got you covered... :up what he said...

Good luck,

Russ

No problem Alexaris.

Monterrey, UK or Canda?

Well if you come down to the states I would load up. Many of the products are not available in other countries unless you know a specific contact.

The PC is is one of them, then a proper set of pads. www.topoftheline.com for 6 or more 7.5 inch pads (foam cutting, polishing, and finishing), heard Hi-Temps bug remover was good.

A nice set of polishes for the PC too. A nice set-up is 3M Perfect It III Rubbing Compound, 3M Perfect It III Machine Glaze, Meguiar's #83 DACP, Meguiar's #85 (optional, but hey you never know, or you can substitue 3M Perfect It III Extra cut Rubbing Compound.), Meguiar's #9 Swirl Mark Remover or #82 Swirl Free Polish. These polishes should offer you superior range of product that covers a lot of aspects of defect removal with you're PC. technique plays a large role too, nothing like having all the good tools and prodcuts and not knowing how to use it. I doubt that though, you are on Autopia.

Zaino you can mix and match products if you want. I find the optimum kit would be Z1, Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7, and a ZFX kit (I also like to use the Z12/Z14 and Z16. The Z18 clay is optional if you can find Mother's or Clay Magic clay for cheaper.) I at first started out with ZFX and used it for a year. Mixing up small batches in 2 ounce bottles wasn't a pain and with the new Zaino, the stuff doesn't stick to the bottle so you can wash them out and re use them with the older formulations of Zaino I just threw out the old bottles. I recently (within the past 2 months) bought and used Z1, I am now on my second bottle. I like to apply a quick application of Z1 (takes less than 15 minutes) every fourth or fifth coat of Zaino. I use Z1 also when I don't have time or want to mix up bottles of zFX with Zaino. I still use both, ZFX when I need to have a fast dry time (or in high humidity or low temps.) or when I want to apply 3 coats in a sitting. I also use Z1 when I am less restricted on time or don't want to apply 3 coats because of time running against me. I will wash the car, clay then polish, apply Z1, then Z2 or Z5, while it is drying, do the interior and glass. Then buff off the Z, do the tires, wheel wells, wheels, and trim, then Z6 the car.

Its personal preference I guess, Z1 or ZFX, but I have both to use in different situations.

Klasse twins. Proper applicators (foam, terry, and MF), proper towels (cotton and MF ww.pakshak.com are good ask for ranney PakShak on Autopia for the Autopian rate, www.autofiber.com and www.properautocare.com also offer MF's.) Brushes for interior cleaning, wheel cleaning, tire cleaning are also good. An all purpose cleaner for wheels and tires, also for interiors (www.detailingdepot.com is good, like Meguiar's APC+ cheap and lasts a long time, can also use it on engines.) Cleaning and protecting the interior vinyl and leather. 303 and Vinylex are two popular choices for interior vinyl protection. A leather cleaner and conditioner are also good. A search of autopia will yield good results.

Just make you you have all your basis covered, unless you come to the states often.

Hope this helps,

Jason

I live in Monterrey, Mexico, I live like a couple of hours from Mcallen, Tx. I go there like 4 or 5 times a year. I have a p.o. box there. so I can order everything from Internet. I was thinking properautocare or classic motorin accesories. and ask them to deliver to mcallen, and I can pick them up in a couple of weeks. Im going to ask for a pc 7424 and the cma pads. and all the other products you mentioned.

Thanks a lot for all the help

Whoops, sorry about the mix up Alexaris.

I would recommend against the 7424, unless you get the 6 inch counter weight.

Other than that, everything sounds good.
