What to look for in a rubber/vinyl protectant?

I'm having a debate on another forum about the bad name Armor-All products have with the detailing community. Specifically the debate is why it's not a good product to use, and the damage that can be attributed to using it. What are your opinions on the subject?

If you'd like to check out the other thread:here

Thanks for sharing your opinions.

hey, I didn't know you're a member there. What do you drive?

I'm Polaris there, too. I love CF. :xyxthumbs

You want something from a well-known, reputable company and UV protection. Anyone can cheaply make a satin-finish, non-greasy protectant... add milk and lemon juice to water, and viola, it's milky white (like 303) and has a nice scent, too.

:D

Yes, I'm kidding about the milk, but it's easy to make a low-gloss interior dressing... water is one.

There's a thread somewhere here about good vs. bad silicone...and I believe it mentions armor all as having the "bad" silicone that will eventually dry out your plastic.

Bottom line? 303. Non glossy...protects from the sun...cleans...good stuff.
