I don't like the fact that the Glanz Wax is not layerable, i would a product that if i layered a few times it kept getting better with layers.

I am currently using klasse but want to try out the Metallic Polish since i have alot of metallic in my paint. What can i use to top the MP with that i can also layer and would make my metallic really pop?

Thanks.

quik- I'm not sure WHAT will do that for you. There aren't too many products, IMO, that REALLY layer (at least not the way SG and Zaino do). And MP is gonna be a little tricky because of the waxes in it.

When I used MP on the (silver) S8, I topped it with several applications of UPP, but I don't know if UPP really "layers". Turned out nice, though. You could really see the metallic effect.

Oh, and much as I like 1Z polishes, I dunno if I'd read all that much into the name "*metallic* polish". There are lots of products that look great on metallics.

quik,

I use 1Z Metallic Polish and Glanz Wax and I find that I don't need to layer. I like the look I get using these two products and the the fact that the products don't need to be layered is a plus for me, JMO. Sometimes if I want to add more "pop," I'll top with some S100. The 1Z line is designed to be cost-effective so you don't have to use more product than you really need, saves you product, money and time.

The Metallic in the name doesn't necessary mean that it is specifically for metallic paint. Here is the description from the einszett website:

Metallic is designed for use on all types of paint finishes including new cars and paintwork that is well treated with very minor surface issues. Cleaning action safely dissolves the toughest surface grime. Contains a combination of premium white carnauba wax and polymer waxes for durable protection with exceptional depth and gloss.

Good luck :)

After using 1Z MP you could use Menzern's FP to burnish the paint surface. Because FP is water based it will remove all waxes/oils/fillers used in other products. When you file off the FP with a MF towel, the paint will literally squeek. As an added benefit, with fillers, etc. removed, you will be able to see the scratches you missed, but were filled in.

Finish with AIO and SG for a brilliant shine.

Gonzo: your post is interesting, i have 3 out of 4 products mentioned already hehe. FP and klasse aio and SG. I used SMR the first time on my car with a PC 7424 should i just stick with that or should i try the Metallic Polish. I am using the term lightly now after what i have read that its not a super metallic polish made specificly for that. I have a few light swirls left and i would like to try that route might come out cool. Any more info, suggestions, opinions welcome.

On second thought after recieving my autogeek.net newsletter i may now jump on the wolfgang bandwagon, anyone try this product line that is made by pinnacle yet? It is compared to blackfire and platnium, also S100 and many other carnuba waxes. I haven't seen many reviews on this yet, (i guess because its really new) but from what i have read it "bridges the gap between synthetic sealents and carnuba waxes, best of both worlds".

Like i said i have some very minor swirls, should i just use Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner on the entire car with my PC than continue to the wolfgang line? Basically that leaves me with a mild abrasive, a polish and a wax, that is the right procedure correct? I want to begin to try new products so i can find just the right product that works for my paint. I am drawn to wolfgang a bit because it says it has very similiar properties between a carnuba and a synthetic that may help my metallic paint come to life.
