What products do you use for Car Shows?

HIN is coming up and I want to get my car ready to go. Lets forget all about durabilty... whats the best way to get a sleek car show shine?

Should i be after a wet and deep look?

I have a dark gray color also, check sig.

Hows the VM and Sourvean combo?

I used to be a glaze and wax only man before car shows, but I find that some off todays sealants add to the looks so well I am now using them in show preps too.

Like everything it all depends on paint colour but I like

VM or RMG/ EX or Wolfgang/ CMW and/or Souveran on Black or Red

VM, EX, and P21s or Nattys on Dark Metallics

VM, EX-p and P21s on Light Metallics

AIO, 1Z Glanz and P21s on Silvers

Since buying my black car I love my Souveran. I have been keeping it for best and for my own car so not really tried it on any other full cars though. I would guess as on Black it would have the edge slightly over P21s or Nattys as it does on Black.

Currently on my Black Metallic car I have been doing Clearkote RMG, Wolfgang X3, a layer of CMW and then Souveran

I have found a Clearkote Carnuba Moose Wax base with P21s, or Signature over it looks almost identical to Souveran though.

On Dark metallic I would do VM, EX with Carnuba and then Souveran or Signature.

I've put Souveran over EX all the time. Then, I used Nattys on the red SC430 I have and it looks a bit more clear. On black, hands down it's Souveran. I did a side-by-side test of Souveran/Nattys at a Poorboys meet and only one person guessed correctly. You have to know the product and have a trained eye to tell them apart. Souveran imparts more warmer tones where Nattys is a bit less, more clear not as a darkening effect.

However, for indoor shows, I use Zaino for the reflectivity more than the warmth with a carnuba. Under metal Halide lamps, Zaino wins over caranuba. It's much more reflective. If you're outside, stick with EX/Souvearn. The sun shows off a wetter look.

Enjoy!

Something I like for car shows is Shining Monkey's Hand Glaze. It won't offer any protection but it makes the car look awesome. I will apply it just before the show or when I get there for setup.

I also have some car shows coming up and was thinking of just stopping at show car glaze for a nice wet look.

I did have other combos (In addition to this I also have p21s, SG, Glanz, Ex-P, AG EG, UPP)

#80 + NXT

#80/AIO + VM + EX + Nattys

#80 + VM + #7 + EX + Nattys/ Clearkote carnuaba wax (Ultime wetness, #7 is in there as I find VM cleans up the surface after #80, and #7 adds to the wetness).

Its a dark blue pearlescent. Want it nice and glossy with some flake? Any other suggestions. Sorry to hi-jack I just didnt't want to post another thread when its already being discussed. Some pics would be good too folks?

When I show my red MR2 I use NXT. I apply a coat of #81 Professional Hand Glaze over the NXT just before the show.

I use what I regularly use for all occasions: my choice of Zymol coupled with previous uses of Sonus Carnauba Spritz to maintain a clean waxed surface (car #1).

I start out with:

Sonus or ClayMagic

Sonus Paint Cleaner

Sonus SFX-3 Finish Polish (depending severity of paint) Also use SFX-2 or Autoglym Paint Renovator.

Klasse AIO

Klasse SG (# of coats depends on customer)

P21S or Pinnacle Carnuba Wax for light and metallic paints

It really all depends on the condition of the paint. I only use polish twice a year on a car. For winter I focus on protection. In September when I have a week off. Everday I'll put a coat of SG = 5. Leave on for 24 hrs and wait 24hrs between coats.

I have a step by step guide if you want it PM me.

Here's a pic of the last car I did. '37 Ford. Really bad shape. First pic is what 30% of the car looked like, plus micro-mirroring. Last pic is the finished result. It one that day Best Paint, People's Choice and Best Car. Out of 5,000 cars.

I use Pinnacle Paste Glaze (bought it on sale here a while ago) topped with WG on a dark shadow gray Mach 1...it really bought out the metallic at an indoor car show. For some reason, Paste Glaze brings out the metallic pop and the WG is a very good sealant. At the show, I use Adams Detail Spray (the best stuff I've ever used in the QD lineup).

Totoland Mach

I used 3m Glaze. A painter suggested it to me. I never used it before and it's great to bring out the two tone in the paint after polishing.

The line up has been:

P21S Wash

Klasse AIO (spotted where necessary)

Turtle Was Colour Cure Chip Stick (where necessary)

P21S or Souveran Topper

Sonus Carnuba Spritz...

Poorboys Bn'B on the tires

Stoners IG

This seems to be a highly reflective combination and helped me win a Best Mustang placement at the Fun Ford Weekend in Norwalk, Ohio last weekend.

just finished my prep for 2morro.

SSR1 on most panels.

SRP on roof and lower panels.

AIO AND SG on front bumper and bonnet (hood).

EX on all panels.

I shall top 2morro with p21s or carnauba moose wax.

Weird combo but I have my reasons lol!
