XM Radio,

It's digital satellite radio for the home or car, with reception from 2 two satellites (Rock and Roll, haha I get it ;)).

The unit is $299 and the service is $9.99 a month

there's 100 channels of digital music, all with different formats.

I'm the biggest radio listener I know, which is why I don't have the MP3 player, 10 disc CD changer, etc.

So I don't know anyone who has it, what's the 411 and pros and cons of this thing? anyone?

You can get all sorts a music news ect. You can get it at like best buy or car audio shops. ANd then you get the service throught xm.

No commercials etc. Like the radio on the cable TV channels but more of them.

I just dont like the idea of paying for radio waves that hit me for free anyway. And I bet there is never anything on when I am driving.

The big advantage is the broad choices of music. They have a greater playing list that conventional radio. If you are like me I get tired of hearing the same songs over and over all day long.

I went to a XM and Sirius training and they sound like some cool systems. I have done 4 cars at work this month for XM radio.

I would compare it to DSS why do people pay for it More choice.

I'm going to hold out for Sirius Radio. When they finish up their system I believe it will domintate the market. Price on it however is said to be $12.95 a month but it is going to be 95% Commercial free unlike XM Radio who is only like 70% Commercial free. Also Sirius has already launched 3 Sattelites. XM only has two up there.

Siruis should have much better coverage in all areas of the US. Less commercials and over 200 store fronts will be selling sirius while XM only has a few.

Sirius probably won't be nationwide though until about April :(

Just my thoughts!

What about traffic reports and stuff.

What is gonna happen to local radio stations?

My On star has the choice to pick up stuff like this but is per minute charges so forget it.

I will still just burn my favorite tunes and play CDs.

What pads everyone use when using the KBM and a PC? I currently have the flat LC pads from PAC but I was looking at some hydro pads and taking advantage of the fathers day sale and free shipping. Can PAC get surbuf pads?
