What Pads With Optimum Polish?

I got my first bottle of OP yesterday, and have a car to do on Thursday. The car I am detailing is a grn in color 1999 Chev Malibu. The paint looks to be in great shape other then some light scratchs on the door panels and trunk area. I will be using the PC after the wash. I have some of the standard white pads for the PC and the Megs yellow polishing pad along with the Megs burg. cutting pad. Would the white pads be ok to use on the areas that are not damaged, and try the yellow polishing pad first on the damaged areas or is the OP strong enough to get the job done on the white foam pads that have no cutting power? Thanks

I'd recommend using Opt. Compound via PC for swirl/defect removal. It's FANTASTIC!

The polish will work via a PC (with a cutting pad), but it takes a lot longer than other SMR's that you can use on the PC.

IMO, the polish works best on defects via rotary. On the PC it works best to clean up hazing & brighten your finish before your LSP.

If you don't have the compound you can try the polish via the burgundy pad on the areas with the scratches, if that doesn't do it you might need something more abrasive. Either way I'd finish with a pass of the entire car with a white pad - opt polish leaves a really nice finish for LSP's.
