what pads should I use with my PC?

just got a PC. I am using it on my 01 GMC k1500 (pewter metallic), there is light to moderate swirl. after I remove the swirls I am going to use AIO and p21s.

My question is:



what kind of pads should I use?(how many of each will I need to complete the job)



What products would work best to polish and remove the swirling?

I would visit exceldetail.com or danase.com they have some great deals on pads.



If you go to Excel I would suggest the P2



Swirling: Green Medium Polishing

AIO: Blue Light Polishing or by hand

Wax: I like to do this step by hand, or you can use the black finishing



Or over at Danase the LC Pads



Swirling: Orange

AIO: White or by hand

Wax: Black or by hand



Some people might say the orange is too harsh, it depends on your swirling..I dont find it near as aggressive as other pads. Just my opinion of course!



As for how many, if you pick up one of the pad cleaners you could probably get by with one of each and clean the pad as need be and then just spin dry. I have about 3 of each because I dont like to mess with cleaning the pads sometimes so I just put on another, personal preference.



For polishes I would reccomend you get the Optimum Polish, Optimum Compound, and Menzerna Final Polish II. I like to mix the polish and compound 50/50 when dealing with swirls. All these products are very user friendly and have yielded great results for me, they offer a long working time and will not dust; the best of both worlds!
