Two days ago I made my final decision to purchase a Cyclo. Well, I changed my mind. I have been using a PC for two years, and want a rotary just for the fun of it. I really don't need one, just want one. I plan on practicing on my clearcoated John Deere lawn mower; I was unable to remove scratches on this machine with my PC using DACP last winter. I also have a 25 year old orange Kubota tractor that has some challenging paint defects. My 93 Volvo wagon also has scratches I can't get out with my PC. I still have some of the cat scratches on the hood of my Jet Black M3, but I will wait a while before using the rotary on my child.
My question is: what pad size and what backing plate should I use? I have a 5' Meguiar's backing plate on my PC. I use Meguiars pads - I have a lot of them both 6' and a few 8' purchased by mistake. Can I get a 5' and 6 inch backing plate and use these pads? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.
