what other products do I need?

I recently found this site and have really learned a lot about detailing. I have used many different otc products over the years but never got the results I was looking for. I recently ordered some Clearkote, Poorboys, and Wolfgang products to use on my black 03 Cobra. I was amazed with the results and the ease of use. I have been looking for something to do a few days a week and on the weekend and I may have found it. The local, well known, detailer just sold his business to someone and most people do not know him. He does not get the business that the previous guy did and is having trouble getting customers. So here is where I come in. I work second shift from 7pm-3am M-F, so I have a lot of free time in the day and on weekends. I also know a lot of people at the local businesses, plus family and friends.

What "must have" products should I ad to the list below for full details (ext./int.)?

I will continue to do some searching for more info, but I thought a thread may get some give tips and must have products.

I intend to start off with my familys cars which include an 01 White PT Crusier, 04 Black Corvette, and 04 Black Tahoe Z71. After that I will try some friends and coworkers cars. It all goes well I will then work on building a customer base even further and eventually work toward a mobile setup.

That's quite a list of products you have there. Where did you find all the money to purchase that stuff? Anyway, do you have your detailing methods down and in order? Lots of practice will make you confident.

The products I started with are found in the link in my sig. Good luck in your first detail! :wavey

You'll need some wash mitts (chenille or sheepskin). Also something to clean carpets. Right now I'm using 303 and oxiclean. Also, some dedicated brushes for wheels, tires, engine bay, vents, etc.

Sounds great, look forward to your posts...

Denzil - All of the products, except the Clearkote, Poorboys, S100, and Wolfgang, were things that I have tried out over the last 2 or 3 years. The PC was purchased with the Meguiars 9,7,26, and 34 back in 2003. As for the methods, I am going to do as much reading and practicing as I can. I love cars and making them look great. I may give out a couple of freebies to get some good word of mouth advertising at some local businesses.

dpeezy415 - I have a few wash mits, but forgot to list them. They are sheepskin and I keep them seperate for paint or wheel well. Thanks for the carpet cleaning suggestion. That is what I was looking for help on. I also need to pick up some more brushes for the ext. and int..

Other items I was looking for info on are:

One step wax

Two step system

Wheel Cleaner

Ext. Rubber/Trim Cleaner and Protectant
