What is your favorite 4" pads - I need to spot polish my *custom* wheels

I have this tight feeling in my stomach guys....

Long story short . Had HRE'S and it was no match for NYC roads.

In my quest to find the perfect wheel, I may possibly be the ONLY owner of a X5 with a set of 8500lb fully forged pressed wheels.

HOWEVER, it turned out the lug holes needed to be bored out 2mm more and it took a long time for me to find a machine shop I can trust to do it on these very $$$ wheels. I chose them and ALOT of shops are not even comfortable with this caliper of work. I chose them, so let's not let the thread get into *reimbursements*. Let's just focus on repair

What's done is done and there is one slight nick, that I cannot undo. Luckily it's on the lip edge so once mounted, it may not be noticeable at all.

However, the wheel lip is every so slightly scratched on. It is genuine powdercoated ala *BBS style* . U guys should really see the fit and finish on them to appreciate the quality of the powdercoating. 19" wheels weighing in at 20.1 lbs pressed on a 8500lb forge press is an amazing feat.

The ONLY pads I have is cyclo edge pads - green, white and yellow but it will be a nightmare to spot polish the lip and focus on it with the Cyclo.

I have a Fein Rotary and a Festool DA as well. I will probably see start with Menzerna SIP and follow up with 106FA.

However I will need to invest in a pad system. Whether it be a 4" velco/and LC pads or use my Cyclo Pads and buy a new Edge Adapter.

Preface - I have not touched the Rotary or DA in ages....I prefer the Cyclo.

At this point, I'm willing to invest in *the best 4" pad system* and will probably work it with the Fein .

What 4" pads should I get.

   :sadpace: :sadpace: :sadpace:

This a picture of a perfect wheel non marred....

can you do them by hand???? with the pads you have if it's just one and it's only marred in one place then i would just hit it with the pads on hand..

if not i'd go with the edge pads...

and some PB wheel sealant

It's all the wheels. And I took a closer look but while it doesn't feel fingernail deep. they're pretty linear....I'm hoping and expecting it's just CC

I may just give it a shot hand polishing --- ha ha I'm thinking of Scottwax back in the days when I was amazed that he did ALL his polishing by hand.

I decided to go with the LC CCS pads. Debated between getting a new E2K adapter and with the smaller diameter and the versatilty of a *spot* pad, I wanted a whole pads *non hole* --- more pad surface for how I would use it.

2 Wheels Down - 2 More to go.

1 Wheel needed some wetsanding and it's fingernail deep, so I just knocked it down a little. Arrghhhh, it is what it is.....

For those that are interested in wheels - there is only like 3-4 brands and it really depends on what model as well that I would by for a $$$ wheel (BBS, Needz, Champion, RAC, etc). These are legitimate fully forged wheels and I took a huge learning course on the different builds/quality of wheels in the search for the perfect wheel.

Loved the HRE's for it looks.

Hated it for it's durability.

Hopefully any owners looking to invest some serious cash into wheel do you own due diligence when you research different wheel manufactuers !
