What is the deal on the new Meguiars Microfibers?

I saw them at PepBoys and it would be alot easier to get it from there than it would be to get from Excel or Pakshak. Are the Meguiars microfibers for removing LSP and their waffle weave sold in stores high quality enough? Input is always appreciated.

While you're waiting to hear from someone who's used Megs MF, I'll just like to say that although I haven't tried them, Megs always make quality products so you shouldn't have any issues.

One reason some buy there MF elsewhere is that MF from many online vendors is more cost-effective for the quality one gets.

Well from what I've been reading around here, they're not bad. I haven't tried them, but I've seen them getting thumbs up in many discussions by Autopians (who are a tough crowd).

I have the Megs WW-it works well, has a satin edge but doesn't feel quite as soft as the WW I got at Target-if your only going to buy a couple MF I'd get them locally-I f your buying a lot then get them from an internet vendor

I have an assortment, and they are really excellent. One advantage to getting them at Pep's is that you can see, touch, feel before buying. The best Meg's are as good as the best anywhere.

You can get more information about those specific towels at Meguiar's online forum.

I like them. As good as any online vendor although they still don't have something comparible to the ultra-fines. The glass towel works well but it is too big, it would be easier to use if it was 16 x 16.

Two thumbs up on the new Meguiar's microfiber. :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Very good quality. Easy to find. Relatively inexpensive. Meguiar's guarantee.

I have the Glass Towel and the Ultimate Wipe and they are very good. I have seen the Waffle Weave and it's not bad but not as good as my Big Blues and PakShaks.

I have also used all meguiars new towels... They are all very high quality. I use the Water Magnet (aka WW) all the time.

I also have some of the Supreme Shine Microfibers they tow are very good quality. They are two sided and wash up very well. Rank very high on my scale.

This is why I like the new Pakshak glass WW towel. Its the perfect size for windows...:up

I still cant find any new meg's lineup locally in my area. :( :( I really am interested in trying some of the new products form what I hear.

I picked some of these up as a wim at the weekend at a show, while they are a great improvement on the ultimate wipes and a larger size than lots off other MFs, I still dont feel thet come close to the Pakshak Ultra Plush or Sonus Der Wunder Buffing towel. They are plusher than my other fave towel Pakshak ultra fines but dont seem to feel as soft.

Coupled to the fact they cost me £15 = $27 USD I wish I hadnt now, just ordered some more Sonus Der Wunder Buffing towels from Autopia, I could have ordered a few more.

I brought a Ultra Plush Super Terry from Pep Boys a few weeks ago cause I was amazed at how soft it felt. Now I never used Terry on my cars (esp. my Black Audi) for fear of scratches.

Well I tell you what, the thing works as advertised. Even after a few washes in woolite. Didn't know they had MF's too. Will have to pick some up. Can't have too many MF's towels IMHO

They definitely have some good points. The fibers are long, but they aren't as dense as some of the more plush towels; they're thinner, more like the DF Towel hi-line towels. Those are still my favorite "go to" towels for wax removal, though; with longer fibers more widely spaced, they hold the most product before loading up, for me, anyhow.

The new Meg's towels are almost as good, though. They excel in softness and at clinginess, they hold a lot of product before loading up, they are oversized, and if you need some towels NOW you can get them at Pep's.

The older Ultimates are a short nap towel, best for QD work. Almost EVERY quality towel, in ALL the different styles, has a place... the operative word being QUALITY.

My towels are pretty evenly split, about 35% of them Excel's regulars, 35% short naps from Stoner's and Meguiar's, and the rest plush towels from Excel, DF, and Meguiar's. Almost 100% of my polish removal is done with Excel's regulars. Almost 100% of my QDing is with the short nap towels, and For wax removal it's split evenly among the DF, Excel, and Meg's quality towels. I'd like the DFs better if they were plush on both sides rather than plush/short.

IMHO they are just OK. They are priced decently but definetly did not perform as good as the ones I got from www.pakshak.com. I guess you get what you pay for. I would rather have a premium towel even if I have to pay a premium price for it.

I have the Megs supreme shine MF's and they are the best I've ever tried, I find them especially good with PB spray & wipe as the long fibres pick up the dirt and spray very well. I find them thick, soft and large enough to make short work of buffing off wax. I like 'em!

Never tried any Pakshak stuff because they're in Honolulu and I'm in the UK - lol!

I got the big pack of MF from Ranny, and I just can't see why you would buy anything else. These are fantastic towels and way better than anything else I've had. Definitely worth the carriage to the UK Rob.
