What is the current HOT product

I have not been on the detailing forums much lately and was wondering what is the current HOT product or for a lack of a better description, "product of the month"?

Are these new coatings like C Quartz or Optimum really catching on or is the majority still using the old tried and true Carnuba's and or Sealants?  I have started to play around with the coatings a little bit and have to say that C Quartz has shown some promise but my testing is still in its infancy.

I have always been a Zaino fan but am a wax/sealant junkie and try everything.  I have found a few over the years that I really like and mostly use with Zaino probably being the #1.  I also like Collinite 845 and a few of the Boutique waxes like Swissvax and Zymol.  IMHO they all have there time and place and to quote Mike, as long as you pick one and use it often you are fine.  I would like to add an addendum to that, if you pick the right one you don't need to use it as often.

Majority of private owners and production shops are still using cheap carnaubas, majority of higher end pro's and enthusiasts are heading toward coatings.

I see a huge trend coming where almost every company that has a high end carnauba is going to start releasing coatings as well.

Nano Skin for me! Can be called modern clay maybe.

Also better cutting pad for DA, now they make xtra cutting pad with various foam thickness,

thin wool pad etc... so DA can step up a little bit in term of cutting ability.

I really like the cleaning and protecting of Optimum fabric cleaner

and protectant. I don't know if some of their seal, or wax us in it ;

but my clients like the way it stops stains.

I haven't tested this next to their fabric guard coating.

I also really dig Opti Seal, which is a low cost seal. This costs less than

fifty cents of product and lasts for months. Plus it goes on quick. Compared

to eighty dollars for Opti Coat, this is a great training method. It also adds great

reflection and depth to the surface. Less than ten minutes to seal a car.

hydr02.

is there a quicker, more-thorough way to apply a sealant to every inch of a vehicle? no.

not that I dislike opti-seal at all, when coupled with opt's gloss enhancer it looks fantastic, but hydr02 takes the cake for ease of use.

What is the cost and time of application for one vehicle?

A spray on rinse off seal scares me, because I imagin

a large waste of product.

If the price is right (Bob barker), this could be a great product

for my volume car work as well as Rv work.

Jess, yes Opti Seal is sun friendly.

I get minimal hazing on black cars in full sun.

This is less hazing and is better described as

windex steaks.

I have never timed the application for ultimate speed,

But I assume that you could do all the paint in four minutes.
