What is stronger than Meg #2?

I spent sometime on the weekend to detail me 92 Civic which has been abuse by my gf for the last two years. Paint is all dull and even it's a white car, I can see pretty bad oxiation. So I wash, clay, then #2, #9, VM and Moose Carnuda Wax. The shine is pretty good now and it's smooth. But I can still see the milky cloud thing on the paint. and the reflection is not clear. I think that's oxiation. I took some pics but the lighting make it unseenable on the pic.

What's the next thing after #2? I thought about DACP, but I guess that's even less adversive than #2?

No, DACP actually starts out MORE abrasive than #2, and works down to something like #9. I, along with many others have had great success with this. Unless it's more than just oxidation, I think it'll be more than adequate for your needs. Just remember to work it in well, as it has diminishing abrasives which need to be broken down.

how about MPPC or Diamond Cut?

I think the oxiation is pretty bad(didn't detail in the past), I can still see the blemish on the hood and roof. The shine is not a mirror type thing that I want to se..

Actually Mike Phillips said #2 FCC is more abrasive than DACP, although its mistakenly marked 5 on the label vs. DACP's 6. :nixweiss I just used Meguiars Medium Cut Cleaner on a vehicle this past week after the FCC and it did take out more scratches and swirls than the FCC. Megs also makes Heavy Cut Cleaner if you need something even stronger.

Medium Cut Cleaner

The Heavy Cut and Medium Cut cleaners do not have diminishing abrasives and don't work so well with the PC, I believe. I have some medium cut, and I like DACP better.

One thing I forgot to ask, were you using a cutting pad? DACP has more bite with a cutting pad.

I would stay away from Diamond Cut. That's use for removing 1500 grit sanding marks.

Yes, I am using a 7.5 yellow pad from lake county with #2, I need to see if I can find DACP in my local shops or I will try some medium or even heavy cut cleaner. Hell, it's a 86 with heavy swirl makrs and sprider web, and I don't see any lost to mess with it with more aggressive compund.

The main reason I used MCC was the FCC w/cutting pad left too many visible defects. I did use MCC with a cutting pad. I always use DACP or FCC as my main all-purpose "paint improvers" (or crap removers!), then go to MCC if the paint is really bad. But my "abrasive sequence" is DACP, FCC, MCC.

Just wanted to add I've read MANY good comments about Poorboys Swirl Removers (SSR1,2,3) and I'd like to try them myself sometime.

In that case, you might as well go for it. But you'll have to following up with a polishing pad and DACP or something like #9 because you will definitely haze the paint with Medium cut or stronger.
