I had heard that sheepskin was "best" so I bought BMW's OEM sheepskin mitt and have had good results. But now I've heard that sheepskin is not good... Whats the deal?

I don't know who said that sheepskin mitts were not good for washing... I could not agree less. :argue

Anything that has a lot of lot of are to pull dirt up and away from your car's paint will work well. I think sheepskin is among the best.

The one I'm using now, and like a lot, is this black sheepskin product: http://www.properautocare.com/blacsheepwas.html. I've used it about 5-6 times now on my black car. Great results! :xyxthumbs

I like Cotton Chenile and my favorite is the MicroFiber wash mitt.

As always make sure whatever you use is very clean before each washing and use proper techniques to minimize the potential of picking up harmful scratch inducing thingys.

Hmmm...if one does a search on sheepskin, I believe one will get hundreds of hits with advice to dump the sheepskin mitts and get chenille cotton mitts because sheepskin mitts have a higher tendency to scratch. Not my opinion, but the opinion of many here. I used sheepskin mitts exclusively for years, until very recently, when I switched to cotton because of all the negative feedback on these forums.

I think many don't like sheepskin because many of the mitts you find are not really sheepskin. Most are a poly blend which leads to swirl city. I prefer cotton chenille, but sometimes even "real" cotton mitts are hard to find.

I prefer the MF mitts since they require less pressure for the same cleaning action. Also they hold more soapy water then chenille mitts. Plus I think they are softer but again I am strange.

They are pricey but What the heck ain't your ride worth it?

GMN whose MF mitt do you use?

I was in Wal-Mart Sat. and saw a new Genuine Sheepskin mitt, felt very soft. Noticed it was made in China couldn't help but be skeptical.
