hi all,

im new and this is my second post and sorry if this is in the wrong folder. i have an acura 2004 TSX premium pearl white color and i really love my car. i love the fact that im driving a white TSX because other tsx i see on the road are either red, black, or silver. never seen a 2004 white tsx yet.

anyway im using armor all ultra shine on my tires. i have a tire applicator, i spray the armor all on the tire applicator, and then wipe the applicator on the tire. so far so good but is there a better tire dressing than armor all?

oh yeah i forgot, besides being to the forum i dont know much about cars. my friend typeSR2 is my car consultant and he helps me pick out the good products.

but anyway i wanted to know from you guys if there is a better tire dressing than armor all, let me know. thank you for your inputs.

Poorboy's BnB and meg's hot shine are two good choices to get you started, I'm sure everyone will chime in with their personal favorites as well. I have really started to like Meguiar's All Season Dressing, but I have only had it on for a week with no water contact so I can't make an accurate assesment of it's durability.

I prefer gels over sprays, IMO go with either Wolfgang for a matte look or Megs Endurance for glossy. Use your old sprays for the wheel wells.
Beautiful ride BTW. A friend of mine has the same car in Black with a few mods: coilovers, Injen intake, 19" PIAAs, 10% tint, short throw kit, chip upgrade, and an M3 spoiler. He is curently looking for a Turbo or Super but overall the car is absolutely beautiful, sporty on the outside and classy on the inside.

I agree. I tend to stick with gels rather than sprays. Also, I tend to stick with tire gels that you wouldn't find at Wal-mart or Autozone. I've used Black Magic and Meguiars High Endurance Tire Gels and have just found ALOT of sling. I have a white Honda Accord, and let me tell you from experience, the worst experience is washing your car, putting on a very light coat of tire gel, going to the store down the road, coming home and seeing the entire back panels covered in sling mess!! I like Wolfgang's Black Diamond as I've found that very light coats are absorbed in the tires, no sling or mess whatsoever with Wolfgang's. If you like higher gloss like me, just wait 20 minutes or so and put another thin coat on. I've tried quite a few but overall, Wolfgang's is my personal recomendation.

I like Stoners More Shine Less Time for Tires - it's a spray on and walk away areosol. I spray it on from about 4 to 6 inches away. I usually wait at least an hour before driving and have never had slinging problems. I don't know the secret to making it last - Some times I get a couple of weeks and other times just a couple of days. :dunno But it takes no time to re-apply and I like the look so I haven't worried too much about it.

I like Poorboys Bold and Bright especially for a white car. It is a water based product so if you do get some sling, it won't stain your white paint. I have had some problems with this in the past when using petroleum based products or those containing acetone.

Teflon Tire Shine. You can get it at AutoZone or Advance for about $6. No sling, even finish, nice shine (not too gaudy). It's all I use now.

Because I do so many cars and take care of my familys 4 cars every week, I don't use the real high end stuff due to cost. I've been using Meg's Hyper dressing which is around $27/gal, but is dilutable. I use it at a 4:1 dilution and it makes the tires very black with not much gloss. Durability is excellent and it doesn't attract one bit of dust. I haven't tried a more concentrated ratio yet but I'm sure it gets more glossy at a 1:2 or 1:1.
I think there was a post not too long ago about 4 Star tire dressing. From what I saw, it was very good. It may be something I use on my Mustang because I rarely drive it. If you're not taking care of a lot of cars, this may be what you'd be more interested in.

Personally, I have actually taking a liking to using Vinylex lately for my tires. Not too glossy, seems to have pretty good durability, and I can use it on all of the black plastic parts on the exterior of my car. I use 303 for the inside only as I found it doesn't seem to last very long on the tires.

Over at Adams Premium Car Care, a site sponsor, they sale a product that is called Knockout. Here is a link to a pic of my tires with the stuff on. Its water based, no sling and lasts the 900+ miles I put on my car per week.

You need to call or email for the product/information.
But, I believe a gallon goes for $20.00, and you can cut that with a gallon of water, effectively giving you 2 gallons for $20.00.

I hear it is good under the hood...I will try that out this weekend.

I second the Teflon Tire Shine...I also like No Touch High Tire Shine (I get it at Costco) and EO Wet Tire. I tried the Gels, and find a spray to be much easier to use, esp. when you use a piece of cardboard to prevent spray hitting the paint. Poorboys BnB is next on my list....

I use VRT, it gives it a nice matte finish and it doesn't take a lot to get great results. I'm looking to change products though, my VRT is going to be for the interior only.

My favorite everyday is TOL Grape and TOL Best. But when I have the $$, I love the Wolfgang Tire Gel. Man, that is some great stuff. I wasn't as impressed with the BNB,cuz it doesn't stay on for very long, and I didn't like the VRT look too much. But I will try them both again and I will definitely dress the intereior with the VRT.

BnB and teflon. the teflon hasnt slinged once since i bought it. even when i just spray on and walk-way. the boldnbright is awesome... gives a nice natural shine u do't see much. i always wait ten minutes then buff it off...additional coats creat more gloss...

ive used MSLT and found it messy. mainly because i get oversprayt spots all over my car...

ALL in ALL

u're have more fun experimenting with all types so dont just choose one...
