What if you did this?

DEEP & WET
I was trying to think about the most time efficient way to apply multiple coats of SG. My garage is actually seperated from the apartment and can get quite dusty. I've heard there are many ways to apply SG, so I want to pitch this out to see what you professionals think.

Wash --> Clay --> SSR 2.5 --> AIO --> SG x 3 --> #26

SG-1 would be applied and left to sit on the truck overnight. The next day, QEW to remove dust and and SG

SG-2 after drying and do the same process over...

Do you:

1. Think this process is too lengthy and using a QD will be faster and more user friendly in regards to SG removal?

2. Think QEW is detrimental to the SG removal?

3. Think the shine of the WOWO method is the same as or superior to a lengthy cureing time and is the most time efficient way to apply SG?

3. Think this is probably the dumbest thing you've ever heard. I should leave Autopia and thow the PC away?

Hopefully Jim (Jimmy Buffet's) will see this. He really loves Klasse and knows how to get the most out of it.

I like SG's durablity and it really isn't as hard to use as some people say, but I prefer the appearance of other products on dark colors. I just haven't used it enough to give you any practical advice on your method. I just applied a single layer and was done.

J.J. I have no experience with QEW.

I have used SG and Mothers QD to remove it. I start on one section of the hood and go all the way around then get the QD and go around the car again removing the SG. If you chose to go with the QD you will have to clean the dust off of your car before the next layer of SG. Which might take you even longer then if you USed the QEW method.

Have you thought about layering the SG one coat per week? You could-wash-then SG-then remove with QD and be done untill next weekend. Or if you cant wait untill Wednesday:)

I guess waiting could definitely be a possibility, however I really would like to get everything complete in one weekend. I am dieing to put some nuba' on the Pathy.

Which carnuba?

Drive around with just SG on it for a week. When you top it *I* would only top a small section. When I topped my SGX4 I don't know if it really improved anything. I liked how SG looked all by itself. How it looks is really a personal preferance thing. If I would have only done half of the hood I would have had a side by side area to compare. Plus if I don't like it I only have to re-do half of the hood-vs-the whole car. I know that some people will say "just strip it all down and start over, thats half of the fun" :)but I just don't have the time right now to do that.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well, I have a severe OP problem, so I feel the nuba' helps to mask the look of the OP. I would have liked to try the mirror relfection provided by EX-P (I think SG provides the same relfection), but I feel the effect just won't be to my liking.

More than likely, I will do half the hood and take comparrison shots just to post here at Autopia. I will be using #26 b/c I recently acquired two cans at AZ. Thanks for the advice

Altho I use SG everyday, I don't get the opportunity to layer it as often as I would like, let alone 3x.

But, my black car has 3xSG and S100. It is wonderful.

I've never used QEW, so...

Remember, any liquid will affect/weaken the monomer crosslinking if appplied before the curing process is completed, and this includes a "Quick Detailer"

So, wait 24 hours, consider the use of a CCD, QD and apply the Sealant Glaze. It is worth the effort!

I reapply the carnauba about evry three weeks - in addition to adding 'warmth', it serves as a 'sacrificial layer, and may extend the life of the sealant.

Have fun!

Jim
