What happened to Frank Canna?

What happened to Frank Canna? I used to enjoy his click and brags but haven't seen him here in a while? Anyone know what happened?

MirrorFinishMan, I think. He used to detail everything by hand, but he never posted any pictures, he used to dump on people that used machines. Then he posted a (quickly deleted) picture of a swirl monster (that was after he detailed it) and got so ridiculed he got really nasty and started attacking everybody. That's the way I remember it, anyway.

He apparently has a nice little successful business, and even teaches detailing (business), but he was an older guy (even older than me, if you can imagine that ;) ) and not really from, say, the defect removal school as we know it here. He was more a Meg's chemical cleaner/glaze/wax isn't it purty guy.

He seemed to be a better businessman than detailer, based on the few pics I've seen of his work. You just can't remove swirls by hand anymore and he (at least when he was here) refused to accept that. He also thought clay was not an accepted detailing step.

I agree with Scott about him being more business than technique and that made him not very popular near the end before he got banned.

He is very active on twitter now... I'm sure you can find him if you look.

[Here, did the hard work for you... http://twitter.com/MirrorFinish]

So i may be mistaken. Was he the guy who worked with a bmw used car dealer? From what i remembered he used to do goodwork with a rotary.

I vaugly remember the SN now that you mention it. I guess I never really followed his stuff. Because for the life of me I don't remember anything about the guy like you guys are describing. ehh.. So many members on here coming and going it's hard to keep them straight anymore.

From AG's site...

That's pretty funny!....I forgot that I originated the post.

I've reduced my detailing to a few choice customers and am taking a year (or so) to do K9 handling for a private company. The company is growing with a U.S. Treasury contract and now an Army contract, so I'm picking up lots of dog poop

I still check with the AutoGeek site almost weekly cause detailing is still a favorite of mine. And, I've met some super folks on here.

Toto is a good guy - gave me some great advice and a lot of encouragement via PM's. On the other hand , frank canna was a ****, and got what he deserved.

Haha Scott!

Yeah, when I tried the whole twitter fad (that's right, I called it a fad) I had him as a mutual follower and he was one of the [many] users I eventually blocked because I got nothing but twitter-spam from him 20 times per day.

All those "social media experts" on there piss me off. You're not a social media expert. You're a manager at McDonalds (yeah, a real example from one of my local 'followers') or an unemployed loser that has the time to update 300 times a day with no real substance.

I read a statistic once that only about 1% of twitter account users provide real content. The rest of the 99% of users are only humping each others legs tweeting and retweeting crap to get more followers to validate their account status.

Wow... that feels better. :)

Yup, Frank loves some Twitter. It is actually a really great tool, once you learn how to use it. If it was not a good tool, why would most major companies be using it? I agree though, that some take it a little to far. As for Frank, he obviously has a very nice niche market; people who appreciate that fact that he does everything by hand. I see no reason to ridicule him for that.

It wasn't so much that but his attitude about it.
