What format for CD listening in car?

Hey fellow Autopians. :hifive: I have a computer software question. I want to be able to hear my CDs in the car through the headunit when I head back home. Right now, I have my songs converted from MP3 to WAV format. Does normal CDs run on WAV format when I play on any CD player let alone the headunit in the car? If yes, then I will proceed to burn the songs to CD.

You want to keep them in MP3 format. You'll need a cd burning program, as you can't just drag the MP3's onto the cd's folder and burn it that way. I use Nero, works perfect for me everytime. I think winamp has a cd burning program in it also, if you use that. Just get some cd-r's, and the burning program, and put the MP3s in the program and you're done.

That's how I used to do it, I would use winamp to convert mp3 files into wav files, and then use something like easy cd creator to burn them to a cd

Not all head units can play MP3 files. I think most aftermarket units can theses days, at least the better ones do, but factory units are a different story. Check the manual on yours to see if it will even play MP3’s.

PC.

if it cant read mp3 files you need to convert to .wav then burn an audio cd (not a data cd) with something like ez cd creator or nero

Thanks for the reply. I already converted the files useing ez creator before I started this thread. I just want to make sure with fellow Autopians that converting MP3 to WAV and burning using Audio creator function would be ok.
