I just bought a Mytee Deluxe Prep Center and it comes tomorrow! :mohawk What do you guys recommend for a cleaning solution? I have rad a lot of good things about an Oxi-clean mixture, is this the way to go on carpets?

Thanks!

Ultrapac is a great one. Most people dont run a cleaner through the machine itself and usally only use clean water. I use Ultrapac sprayed onto the carpets and let dwell. Hit any stains that need to be agitated and then rinse and extract using the clean water. Works like a charm.

oh yeah if you use it often you will want to run vinegar or a dedicated cleaner through the machine once a week to keep the "scale" buildup from clogginf the machine and growing on the inner workings.

Do the Oxy method by hand, vaccum out the Oxy, extract with clean water once or twice. If that doesn't work use some APC to pre-treat the stubborn spots and try again. Hasn't failed me yet, and I've been using it on some grimmy carpets (black when supposed to be tan). Two passes is the most I've ever needed and my extractor is a little green machine (not really an extractor, more like a small vaccum).

Using a dedicated carpet spotter chemical for the heaviest soiling, followed by a general cleaner then extracted with plain water would be the ticket.

Good thought from scottabi on the occasional cleaning of your extractor equipment with vinegar. :bigups KIf it's good enough for your coffee maker, it should be good enough for your extractor, assuming you have a stainless steel "boiler". I have been hesitant to use vinegar with the aluminum "boiler", which I have on my vapor steamer.

I use Hi temp's and a product called Cleans All and Lemon Kleen. Both are awesome chemicals and made here by a local detail supplier. Cleans All is 10:1 and I mainly use it for pre-treat and disaster cases. It has color brighters and smells good. Lemon Kleen is 6:1 and is my normal carpet shampoo. Smells like lemons and cleans great. You should have no problems cleaning carpets with Mytee, even with out pre-treating. The Oxi method is great for someone who doesn't have a extractor and uses a shop vac. I loved my Ninja, but it was too cumbersome and I like my Bissel little green hot water machine better.
