What does "mopped" mean?

If a car dealer describes a car as having been recently "mopped" .... what does that mean?

Any ideas?

Yeah, sounds like Brit-speak for wool pads by rotary.

Or it might just mean that they wiped it off with something like a mop you'd use on a floor.

Either way I'd expect that car to need some serious attention and I'd probably think about getting something else that had *not* been "mopped".

Sorry. Missed following up this one.

Thanks for the info.

I guess rotary and wool pads would be pretty aggressive then?

I guess the question is why would it be necessary to compound the paint. There could be a very good reason and did they do a good job
