What do you use for white paint?

What are the differences in thes two (2) carnaub's?

Longevity? Easy of application/removal? Trim Staining? Is one superior on non clearcoats or clearcoats than the other? Waiting time?

I'm deciding between these two (2) and Liquid Souveran as my next wax.

I have used both and previously Blitz was a very close second to P21S. Now that I have tried Pinnacle Souveran, it has become my favorite. The only draw back to Souveran is that it doesn't last as long. Otherwise it easier to apply/remove, I haven't noticed any trim staining or excess residue, and wait time is not even an issue.

According to a lot of people Blitz is more durable, but there is nothing that beats the shine of Souveran.

There was a good comparison of the two in a thread awhile back. Do a search on Blitz and Souveran and I'm sure you'll find it. I think they both came in pretty close to each other but one was a little more durrable than the other.

I would suggest BLITZ for the daily driver and Pinnacle products for cars that are not...that's pretty simple, isn't it !

I have used them all and can only recommend Pinnacle for the garage queen or for someone willing to wax their car monthly.

Pinnacle is such a pleasure to use I use it weekly. :D Anyone that is willing to spend $70 on a can of wax is probably not going to mind waxing frequently. I like to wax everytime I wash. I have a can of Blitz. I'm waiting for it to warm up so I can do a good comparison test against Souveran. I have a great donor car all lined up. :xyxthumbs

Souveran definitly, i love the stuff and will never use anything else. I have a black and on it it makes it looke like a endless liquid pool of black paint.

Do you guys think that by dragging a chain or some kind of wire that has conducting properties from your car to the ground would help keep the dust of you car. The charge that you get on your car when driving would be transfered to the ground so it would not attract dust at all.....? It might look bad though.

well I already do that hey, cuz my car zaps me everyday (and I rekon Klasse increases my zap chances) But dont think it affects the dust factor LOL But i get no dust ever, only accumulation of dirt after a few days like any car.........?

actually Klasse reduces the static electricity for me (because of its anti static property maybe)....it seems that the more layer I get the less static my car is :)

I can feel the static on my arms when working with Blitz.

I used Souveran for the first time last week.

It's to easy not to use.:xyxthumbs

If you want durability go with Collinite Marque d'Elegance No. 915

Best thing you can do for white paint (well any paint for that matter) is a proper prep job. For white this is especially important because you can see things like rail dust, black streaks and tar much easier than compared with any other color.

Take your time claying, clean around emblems and badges especially well because dirt congregates there and is very noticable, especially after the rest of the car is perfectly clean this will stick out like a sore thumb.

Also avoid using carnauba waxes on white, personally I am a sealant guy anyway but I found its always best to opt for a sealant on white, you can get a bright glossy finish easier compared to a nuba.

One more tip, avoid using a greasy or overly shiney tire dressing, it will seriously detract from the look of a perfect white paint finish because the contrast between shiney black rubber and white paint is too dramatic, go with a more matte tire dressing... have the emphasis be on the finish, not the tires.

After prepping the paint, I personally use Duragloss #601 Polish Bonding Agent mixed with Duragloss #501 Marine Polish to clean the paint. After 2 hours I apply Duragloss #601 mixed with #105 Total Performance Polish for protection. My final wipe is performed using Duragloss Aqua Wax.

I agree with Dave 100% about the prep work. That is by far the most important step in making any paint look good. After you are finished with the prep work, you have a few options.

Option one is, use a glaze like Poorboys World White Diamond Show Glaze. This will do some light filling in of light swirls, and add a little extra pop to the white paint, and then you can top it with a good sealant or wax. I personally like to use Collinite 845IW on white.

Option 2 is to go straight to a sealant. Try BFWD or Menzerna Powerlock. Optimum Opti-Seal also looks good on white and couldn't be easier to apply.

Dave is 100% on about the tire dressing as well. An overly shiny tire will really detract from the look of a perfectly finished white. Also make sure to use a water based tire dressing, so it doesn't sling all over the white paint.
