What do you think of this?

first off I have a 1998 green tacoma that was just painted two years ago. I have small scratches and light swirls in the paint. This is the procedure I am thinking of doing,

Wash w/ Super Suds
Clay
SSR2.5 W/polishing pad
SSR1 W/polishing pad
Nattys Blue W/? - Should this be done by hand or with a Finishing pad?

Is it ok to go from SSR1 to Nattys Blue or should I use EX-P before Nattys Blue?

Thanks in advance

Dylan

if you are going to use EX-P then it should be done before Natty's Blue. And Blue should probably be applied by hand. Most paste products are easier to apply that way. The PC is a great tool that speeds things up, but some things are still easier to apply by hand.

I think SSR2 would probably be enough to take care of 'light swirls'. No sense in using a canon to kill a mosquito, ya know? If that does the trick then there may not be a need for SSR1 either. Don't use products if you don't need to. I've found that SSR2 will handle swirls and not require any follow up in many cases.

I understand that EX-P should be used before NB, but is it a necesisty?

I say light swirls b/c you can only see them in direct sunlight. However, they are all over my truck! Its been like this ever since it was re-painted. I have never used a PC before, so it could be from using bath towels to dry it with. (don't worry..I know better now!)

I will try to get some pics of the swirls up tomorrow.

Thanks for the response

Dylan

BTW you had a great write up about doing a show car detail! Although I'm not going for a show truck, you had some great advice

In reality none of this is a "necessity" however using a good sealant like EX-P is a great way to protect your paint and preserve the finish, which in turn will bring a longer life out of your investment. EX-P will last quite a bit longer than just plain wax, it applies just as easily and is a fantastic way of maintaining your vehicle.
I would highly recommend using EX-P and then the NB on top (after the proper curing time) and I garauntee that you will love the results.

If EX-P will help the finish last longer, I'm all for it. The extra work doen't bother me at all, I just didn't know if the results were worth the extra time and money.

I have done some research on EX-P. Is the proper cure time 24 hours?
