WHat do you do?

Amnesty

Down by the river
I don't post here that often, just usually lurk around and take things in. What do you guys to when everything just goes wrong? What do you do to get past it?

P.S. I'm in college so my car is back home :(

I go to work.

I've recently gone to work for 14 days straight without any weekends off. I've had many issues with my girlfriend and instead of sulking, I just let the boss know I'm coming in and to let the security guard know. I swamp myself with work to the point that you have no choice but to forget about whats bugging you and just focus with whats in front of you. If not work, I study for upcoming test. I put my mind on other things and literally forget about everything/anything else.

I know that it may not helpo you out, but the logic of keeping yourself busy does. Make sure its with something productive though. Something that you know will make you money, help you learn, build relationships, ect.

Not to frown upon anyone, but I have always felt strongly that if you're always doing something, there is no time to be depressed, sad, mad, ect.

Just read my signature and remember the Crock Hunter ...and if you really want to feel better go to a local hospital and visit a children's cancer department....you probably have a great life compared

Ditto.

Furthermore, do something you enjoy. For me, it would be detailing. It's a physical activity that (if done right :)) allows for instant gratification, determination, concentration, and skill improvement. I always found this craft to be very therapeutic. I tell all my clients the same thing when they ask, "Doesn't this get old/boring/tiring/tough/etc?" I like what I do and until I hate it, I will continue it.

If it's *that* bad, definately enlist in some counseling. Talking to someone neutral is always like a breath of fresh air.

I cry, pray, walk with my wife, play with my son, or watch Judge Judy and remind myself of how bad my life could really be.

I usually go to my favorite bar and drink until I can't see straight.

Just kidding....................... not really.

but seriously what the other guys said here is pretty much on the ball, if you just surround yourself with work with little down time usually you forget to be upset. Try taking on some home improvement projects or maybe taking up a new hobby. Music and books are always great escapes for me.

Hey Amnesty. I'm currently in college and been having some problems too. When I get really down I force myself to go out. Sitting around is the worst thing to do. Even if I don't have anywhere to go, I find somewhere. I'll go around smiling at people (mostly girls) and almost all will smile back. I do a little flirting and I start to feel a little better (This really works during girl problems). I set small tasks for myself and complete them. Things I know I will be able to do, but once I do them, I feel like I've accomplished something. It gives me more of a positive attitude on everything else.

What ever you do, don't ever think there is no way out. There always is. Look in to the future. I always think to myself, what are my goals? What do I want to get out of life? How am I going to get it?

Best of luck.

I make it a point to not let things go all wrong. If you believe that everything happens for a reason, then nothing ever really goes wrong anyway. :)
