What do you do with old foam polisher pads that lose their backings?

I cut them up into small sections and use them to apply cleaners, polishes and protectants in tight spaces.

Not a bad idea....be great for door jams.

Cut mine up and use them for tire dressing.

This is what I've been doing with all my CCS pads. I really hate those things compared to flat pads, so they are my go-to tire dressing applicators now.

never had that problem with anything except them crappy Kompressor pad velcros

however I do use 3 and 4 inch hex logic pads by hand to polish

I *just* had a Griot's orange pad lose its velcro after many, *MANY* years (first time that's ever happened with one of those too). It was my "AIO for wheels" pad so I'm just using it as a by-hand pad for the same sort of applications.

My orange light-cut pads are the ones that usually have this happen and I use them by hand for tight spots.

Knee pads! :)

I usually toss them. LOL, heck I give a lot of my pads to a local high volume shop when I get too lazy to clean them out or they are more worn then I like. :D

How do you hold them to do tire dressings? Are we taking about polishing pads?

Yeah, polishing pad. Just slice it like a pizza then trim them to suit your tire size and you got yourself a custom made durable tire applicator.

When my carrand foam part of the applicator fails, I will use the handy plastic casing putting into it part of an old LC pad (white most probably) fixed to a double sticky tape. Alternatively I could use one of the Menzerna yellow (finishing) pads I do not use. Modding opportunity :)
