what do use for brake dust on hubcaps?

Most of the people on the board are dealing with either polished or painted wheels.
What do you all recomend for cleaning hubcaps(normal silver type)
I'm afraid that some of the wheel cleaners will damage the plastic

If you follow the instructions on Eagle One A2Z exactly you should get good results. This is an excellent store bought (OTC) wheel cleaner
 
If the build up isn't too bad, then regular car wash soap onan old mitt would be fine, I use diluted Simple Green for all my undercar/wheel-rim needs
 
I did a car not long ago that had plastic covers. I took them off because they where like a wire design. I soaked them in 409 and water for about an hour then used different brushes to get the rest off. They came out near perfect. I then used some no rub polish in a can to coat them
