car's a new 04 STi w/ some swirls and hard water stains on it. I want to get rid of the orange peel so here's what I'm going to do.

wash car 1

wet sand w/ 3000+ grit

wash car 2

PC w/ DACP

PC w/ SFP

wash car 3

PC w/ AIO

PC w/ HGSG

My questions are... is wash 3 needed? Should I add an additional step anywhere? I would prefer not having to go through twice wiht he same product if possible. Does HGSG need to "cure?" or can I jsut start layering it immediately? becasue I know some products need to cure, like RejeX...

Also, if it needs to cure, how long should I wait between each coat of HGSG??

Sorry I can't answer your questions but I sure hope you are an expert at wet sanding. Especially on a new car.

wet sanding is relatively easy, especially since I'm only going to be using 3000+ grit. to help level off the orange peel a bit instead of doing 23543534 passes w/ DACP.

I know I can't take off too much clear, so I might even skip the wetsanding step... not sure yet.

I strongly encourage you to skip the wetsanding. Better to have thick but imperfect clear IMO. Consider that you may well need to polish the car again sometime in the future....

I wouldn't bother washing after the #82 unless you get too much product on it (in seams, etc.). The AIO will clean the paint just fine.

The SG needs 24 hours between coats to cure.

thanks, after some more reading, I've decided to skip the wet sanding, and stick with starting w/ DACP.

Also, what soap should I wash with? dawn?
