Does this look like acid staining or brake fluid staining

Are you saying you`ve tried to clean it off and it`s not coming? Do you have a reason to believe brake fluid has leaked? Have you used an acid wheel cleaner?

We need a little more info. Your car?

It`s a friends car they bout 2 months ago and I have tried buffing it off and it wont come off, and it is flayed as well. So its definitely stained and I`ve heard of break fluid causing stains to paint

Is it just the one wheel? I doubt its brake fluid. Typically that would be on the inside of the wheel and not the face like that.

There is some on inside as well but can`t get a good photo of that and yes just the one wheel

To those who mentioned a refinish thanks, upon closer examination on the other rims there is definitely signs of a refinish on those like major orange peel and such so the discoloration must be from the silver

I saw this after the cleaning, but all I did for care was poorboys world wheel sealant, but that is good to know

Yeah, that almost looks like a strong wheel cleaner that wasn`t completely rinsed from the wheel. You see this at automatic car washes...it gets thrown when the car exits the wash line.

I’ve seen similar results several times on vehicles that regularly use a tunnel wash. I’ve always assumed it was the dedicated wheel cleaner on hot wheels. People I’ve known, guarantee me that there wheels were fine before the wash and this was the result once finished. Comments like this are often suspect. That said, these were people that I believed.

Yet another reason not to go to an automatic car wash. It looks like the chemical was too strong and/or used on hot wheels. Hope some polishing may mask it a bit.

Im thinking its Purple-Atomic-Cat-Pee..

Brake fluid left on will remove paint..

Since it is painted, if you get permission, take a corner of a soft cloth and try a - little - spot of a mild polish, rubbing it in the same line as the spot..

Uh oh. There’s a cat on the loose in my neighborhood tonight. I’m sure glad I have a garage!

I think you might be screwed. Might need to look into wheel refinishing services ( again)
Not my ride, they were ok with it cause they`re looking for black OEM rims and it was there when they bought it
