What cleaner/polish?

I just bought a PC 2336 from Lowe's and ordered the Sonus DAC pads from Autopia so I have some time before I can do my first polish. I'm going to practice on my mom's '00 black Maxima that has swirl marks, scratches, and water stains before I even touch my car :grinno: .

I have the Zaino Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleanser Swirl Remover. Is that a good product to start with? If not, what product(s) do you recommend? This is my FIRST electric polisher of any kind although I've used Zaino on my cars for years.

Congrats on your purchase you're going to love it! I think you meant the 7336, if you don't mind me asking what was the price at Lowe's? Many members have said it can be had for for $99 but when I looked it is showing at $109.

You shouldn't have to wait too long for your pads to arrive. Not having used the Z-PC personally I can't comment on it but I have heard it is an excellent product. I think you have a good start, if you find it doesn't work well there are many other excellent polishes.

Good luck and have fun!

Mothers PowerPolish... it adjusts it's aggressiveness to the pads you're using, and it's easy to remove. You don't have to buff it off before it dries (so you can do the whole car, then buff it off). It'll save you time because you wont have to put down your PC, wipe and PC again. It's cheap. It's available OTC.

I've tried the Z-PC and feel it is superior to SMR and 1Z Metalic. The product is easy to use and isn't overly aggressive which is good for someone starting out.

Thanks all for the information. Yeah, I must have hit the wrong numbers - its a PC 7336SP from Lowe's. It was $109 + tax. I've seen some say it was $99 at Lowe's but not at my local Lowe's!
