Applied via Griot's Garage DA, 5.5" white LC pad, speed 5, very little pressure. Don't underestimate this product.

DG 501 is an amazing product. I use it every year on my boat when I prep it for winter and bring it out for spring. I top it with Colly 845 and it looks brand new even 12 year later.

I was always surprised at what 501 could correct.

Wow Richard. It looks great. I would suspect that the paint on the car is very soft? This is just another example that DG products are right up there with the best at a great price.

Wow, Im pretty surprised at the amount of cut that is has. Thats the most aggressive AIO that I know of, and the durability is said to be fantastic as well.

What brand vehicle is this? Is the clear pretty soft?

I've used this once on a white mazda but didn't check for any correcting ability. Nice to know that it has some. So many things to try for my spring refresh detail! Guess I'll just have to add it to my list of test panels...

so far I have a panel saved for amigo, cg bl, 106FA, and now DG501...

The trick with the 501 is to mix it with 601 1-4 and the do a second coat of 105/601 at 1-4 for long lasting protection.

Hey everyone, sorry for the late response, had some trouble with the forum yesterday and was pretty busy with the car over the weekend. It was a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T and apparently the paint was a little soft. My previous experiences with Dodge paint proved to be rock hard but not this one. I had a little issue with the DG 501 striping with the white pad regardless if I used a little bit of product or a lot of product, very little or medium pressure. So after further testing I settled on a LC 5.5" low pro Crimson HT pad. Below are the results:

Before you can see the dirt in the paint even after using a clay bar

After DG 501/Crimson HT pad

Before

After

Here's a little sun shot before DG 105. As you can see DG 501 really makes flake pop

Nice pics Richard!

The only drawback to the 501 is that you virtually can't get out of the pad unless you soak it in solvent and then wash it.

You said in your first post it was a white pad. Im guessing you started with it and found the red H/T pad to work better?

Any full shots of the Charger? The spot looks fantastic. Im wish I picked this up when I got 601/105 but skipped buying it. I was under the assumption that 601 was a cleaner and primer, am I incorrect here?

Thanks Mike!

I can live with that, but then again I usually toss the pads when I'm finished.

Correct, I started with white but the paint was being finicky so I switched to the Crimson. I have a couple shots of the car from the owner and will get those posted soon. Keep in mind that this was not a correction, just a wash and seal for winter. Some defects still remain, she simply asked to make it shine and wanted something that would last throughout the winter. The 601 will clean up the paint a little bit but nothing like 501. It is a product that flash cures the polymers found in most of their products.
