What Are Your Must-Have Options?

After enduring a basic loaner this week, I couldn't wait to get my ride back. It made me think of must-have options to keep me sane and happy...

Bluetooth

Nav

Upgraded stereo

Satellite

Leather

Tinted windows

Power moonroof

Nice rims/tires

Others are nice but not a deal-breaker to me...

Tinted Windows (TX)

Autodimming Rearview Mirror

Upgraded Stereo

Leather Seats

Light Interior (TX)

Key Fob door/trunk release

Ipod connection

The ability to turn *OFF* any stability/traction-control systems; that's an absolute deal-breaker for me (I might relent on some of the systems on certain exotic cars, but I won't be shopping for one of those vehicles anyhow).

On RWD vehicles I insist on a limited-slip differential. If it doesn't come with one, and I can't have one fitted at reasonable expense/hassle, I buy a different vehicle.

i buy every car with EVERY option. just the way i do it. no lost sleep or "could have, should have regrets". :soscared: life is too short. :D

Forgot about HID/Bi-Xenon headlights. Couldn't believe how much dimmer the loaner's regular halogens were...felt like two small flashlights taped to the grill.

More horsepower than I have now (255) since more power is always better

HIDs

Power locks and windows

Sport suspension

That's about it. :nixweiss

Aftermarket stereo

HID

keyless entry

large enough trunk for my golf clubs (unfortunately a deal breaker on many cars)

I prefer many others but can get by without most. I also prefer no sunroof.

Absolute must have options:

Heated Seats

Leather Seats

Keyless Entry

Hopefully it has:

5sp or 6sp manual tranny

200+ hp 6 cyl OR turbo-diesel (wanna do wvo conversion)

Wow... nobody has mentioned Cruise Control yet??

You guys mentioning Bluetooth, HIDs, Nav, etc... I think that's a little excessive to be considered a 'must-have' option.

Maybe you guys have never been stuck with a car with no cruise control, because that's the only time you realize how special it is. Twice I have driven cars with no cruise control and it absolutely drove me nuts! Even 20 minutes on the freeway without it is annoying.

I refuse to drive my father-in-laws Cavalier long distances because it lacks cruise control. I would never refuse to drive a car because it lacks Bluetooth capability or HIDs.

:sosad

hardly ever use cruise control...puts me to sleep. unless i'm about ready to hit a notorious speed trap.

Decent sound deadening is a MUST for me; I can't stand excessive road noise.

HID lighting is also great.

Speakers can always be upgraded by me as well as wheels, tint, and any performance goodies, but 200+hp is always nice to start with depending on the weight of the vehicle.

Notice how short my must list was, with HID's being one of them. Once you have them, you never want to go back.
