People I talk to seem to be using new stuff...what are you using on your wheel wells these days?

Do you clean with a wheel well brush every time you wash the car?

I use plain ol' Armor All. It works, and it's cheap.

On my Camaro, I scrub my wells with a brush and dress them about once a month. On the Tahoe, I do it with every wash...much more visible.

same here AA FTW!!

My WRX is lowered a bit, so it's hard to clean the wells with a brush. I just blast it with my foam gun and again with my hose...then dress it with Opt Tire Shine diluted 1:1.

i turn the front wheels in and use the eagle one bucket-less trigger wash along with a sponge to clean them. i use hd, asd, or armor all to dress...

I clean them every wash (using a floorjack to raise the car up as needed) but I only dress them on the "good cars". I use a slightly stronger-than-normal shampoo mix in a spray bottle with BHBs and a Quickee Sponge Mop on the good cars and diluted EFHI on the others.

On the S8, I'm using BF or UPP, even on the black plastic parts. I suspect this won't work on the plastic forever and I'll probaby switch to AutoGlym's Bumper Care when that happens.

Been using up some old Griot's Rubber/Vinyl dressing on the A8 and I use Griot's Undercarriage Spray on the XJS.

I'm always sorta surprised how good the wheelwells look on the cars I don't dress. Just keeping things clean in there makes a world of difference.

Any Protectant or tire gloss that I try and doesn't pass my test.

When in need to purchase another AA user or whatever protectant product that is on "Special". :2thumbs:

Wheelwells never get dirty enough to need much more a hose down or very low fanning spray from the pressure washer. :D

CarBrite "Power Clean" (heavy cleaner/light degreaser) sprayed generously in the wheel well. Powerwash it good. If I still want it looking better, spray some tire shine. On the rear wheel wells of trucks- a quick spray of rubberized undercoating over the dull/rusty frame makes it look like new. :)

I have a general purpose cleaning bottle which gets aimed at, wheels, wheel wells, heavily soiled areas... hose off, repeat, wipe down with costco mf, toss mf.

My current recipe:

32oz bottle - rubbermaid prayer head

mostly water

1/2oz Simple Green

1/2oz Meguiar's APC

1/8oz. S100 Total Cycle Cleaner

My wheel wells are plastic in the from and caroet in the back, pressure wash the beater truck, but not too much.

My current recipe:

32oz bottle - rubbermaid sprayer head

mostly water

1/2oz Simple Green ( more if target surface is badly soiled )

1/2oz Meguiar's APC

1/8oz S100 Total Cycle Cleaner

(( 1/2oz. of Charlies APC )) also works well

My wheel wells are plastic in the front and carpet in the back, too much APC will cause a swilly or catty smell, so less is more, I don't expend my precious brush fiber on my wheel wells, plus the fit is kinda tight, heavy stream for carpet, mist for plastic.

The beater(s) pressure wash, but gently.

I just picked up a couple cans of some spray paint/undercoating stuff and painted the damn things. Mine had plastic covers over part, and then the rest wasn't, some of it was a little green, some a little black, looked horribly uneven, even dressed. The undercoating is gloss black, so all I do is spray them down, and if it is really dirty I'll spray some diluted APC in there and brush a bit first

Since there isn't much room to reach a brush in there on my TDI, I just spray the wheel wells down with the Griot's wheel cleaner when I'm spraying the wheels and tires. By the time I'm done brushing the tires and cleaning the wheels, I'll just spray the wheel wells down with a high pressure nozzle and they stay very clean. I must admit to the dismay of many autopians, I do not dress my wheel wells. OMG, naked wheel wells, quite a sin! Tsk tsk I know...but they look pretty good/clean to me..

mine have some overspray from the bodyshop that painted my moldings last year.

I need to spray paint them black again and start cleaning them good.
