What are some common questions customers ask?

What do you use?

Can I watch?

Do you have any prior experience?

Are you out of high school (if young)?

Do you have any comparison for prices of your competitors?

What would you recommend for this?

The list goes on.

The most common question would have to be: "that will buff out right"...as they point to a key mark that is exposing bare metal.

The most common statement (usually involving a late 90's Chevy Suburban): "It's not that bad"...as I open the door and see an interior that hasn't been touched since Slick Willy was in office.

How long will the wax last?

Ditto!!!!!

I would like to add:

1) How are you different from the competitors

2) Why are your prices higher than the competitors

3) Whats the different between your product and the others on the market (IF You only use 1 or 2 brands all the time)

4) Can you remove this scratch??? ( Customers still ask me this when the scratch is soo deep that you can see the METAL!!!)

Normally i would inspect the car before doing any work and tell them that i cannot remove all the scratches and swirls. I could probably remove up to 90% of them. The other 10% are too deep. Though it really varies.

I tell them that my main priority is to make sure that i dont cut too much clearcoat away because doing so might ruin the paint job. I know some detailers that their only "mission" is to remove the scratch, so they work on that one spot sooo long that the clear coat basically nearly dead.
